Raises awareness that ripping the pish won't be tolerated. Leaves the player in little doubt that outside his part-time footballer celebrity bubble, he is f**k all until he makes his mark. Obvious effort and application make up for this, as do general attitude when representing the club. When playing for football club, you're joining long lines of family history for supporters, and taking up the responsibility to the people who come to watch you. It's the most priveleged job available to working-class working-age youths on the planet. Fucking grow up.

Modern day football is working class and the emerging players are working class too? May I venture a fucking grow up back at you? We are watching recreational footballers these days who all think they should be earning £'000s per week with wags hanging off them and all have loyalties that swing in the breeze. We as fans have to adjust our expectations and seriously consider why we still attend and stop letting this utter shite ruin our weekends.
