Gormley to Rangers

This is why the top Junior leagues have it spot on. £5 or £6 (adult) £3 (OAP) and Kids in for Free. Pies for a pound (or there abouts, depending on which club). Most grounds have a social club too, where you can get a couple of pints in and still have plenty change in your pocket from what the price of a senior team would charge.

You say the top juniors is excellent VFM but our junior grounds are hardly bursting at the seams either. Whether folk like it or not, there is far far more interest in senior football because facilities are better and the standard of football is better. Even small senior clubs like Stirling still get better crowds than 95% of junior clubs and that's with them charging £13 entry.

I see the boy Gormley who is so shite he scored again yesterday lol

Was his 3rd league goal of the season. Which is shite for a forward.

He does give 100% each game though which is more than can be said for most of our players this season.

Says 11 goals for the season on the Clyde website. 2nd top goal scorer behind Peter Macdonald at 19 goals

Gormley has scored again tonight and Jeff Stelling stated on sky sports " David Gormley has scored for Clyde and that's his 13th goal of the season, not bad for a striker playing in a team that is struggling at the foot of the table"

Aye Jeff but he's pish..............

He's scored a lot of cup goals so would imagine that's what the Clyde fan was talking about re his league goal tally being low.

Cup Gormley is a completely different player. He scored 7 in the Scottish Cup in six games. In the league, that was his 4th goal. Fair play to him he has scored in the last two games. Hopefully he can keep the run going.

Gormley came to Talbot with the reputation as a talented but inconsistent player. He was over weight and not an automatic first team choice. He came on as a sub late on in a game versus Beith early in the season and made an explosive and significant impression with two brilliant goals. He then spent two seasons with Talbot, winning the double in a team that went through both those competitions undefeated, an exceptional player in an exceptional team at this level. He is one of these players who was either brilliant almost unplayable, way above anything else on the park at Junior level, or the opposite, uninterested and apathetic. However, by his own admission he played his best football at Talbot and the games where he never showed were few.

In the right team a fit DG could play at a very high level if he could achieve consistency, like he did at Talbot.

Some of the comments regarding his ability are churlish and ill conceived. Like many of my Talbot counterparts, I would have him back tomorrow.

Good post and agree with all that for sure .

I don't  think any junior team would knock back a David Gormley .

Great post, and totally agree! Great finisher of a ball if given the service he needs!

When he is good he can at times be almost unplayable but far to inconsistent. Head goes down quickly and spends the entire match offside or on his arse claiming for a foul.

If we saw Scottish cup Gormley or '4 goals in 1 game vs Berwick' Gormley on a regular basis he would be playing at a higher level.
