They probably deserved it. The standard of MLS is really pretty decent
Bully Wee Villa
I forgot about it. Turned it back on as NY were winning the shootout. Despite my dislike of the Man City tribute club in New York I am hypocritically going to cheer for the pending Villa tribute club in Las Vegas.

Mon the Timbers. Clyde fan cheering on a PTFC. You love to see it. High intensity but ultimately disappointing final. The embarrassing trophy presentation was everything one of these horrible City branded clubs deserve.
Jimi Shandrix
Portland were the better team over the course of the season but NYC the better team on the night. Pleased for Ronny. He always seemed too nice for old firm nonsense. Sad for Portland though. They, along with Nashville and SKC, were amongst the most entertaining sides this year.

Timberlands are seen as a New York thing in America. https://kulturehub.com/timbs-nyc-culture/
Theroadlesstravelled
Toronto have signed Lorenzo Insigne. Quite a coup for them. He was excellent in the Euros.
Craig fae the Vale
NYFC have announced that their "home" Champions League game in February will be played in Los Angeles. Just 2,800 miles from New York City.

They are due to play Galaxy 4 days after the game so playing this one at LAFC's ground does make sense. If they make it to the next round they will be using Red Bull Arena as the pitch work should be finished by then.

They should have partnered with Mets, whose stadium is next to land they could actually build a stadium on.
Jute
Season openers on today. Currently watching San Jose lose 2-1 to NY Redbulls. Goalkeeper far San Jose is very suspect.

Jimi Shandrix
Great to have the MLS back. Not getting involved in a discussion regarding the technical attributes of the league or otherwise but what is not in doubt is that it is usually a hugely exciting watch. Caught a couple of matches at the weekend, the best of which was Portland's 2-2 draw at home to New England. Looking forward to seeing how Lewis Morgan gets on playing for a decent team after his move from Miami to NYRB.
Craig fae the Vale
Got NYCFC v CF Montreal on just now. NYCFC 3-1 up and it's been a decent watch so far. Main event for me tonight is Seattle Sounders v LA Galaxy just before 9. Hoping the Sounders can drive on from their Champions League win through the week and pick up their first points of the season. They'll clearly be using MLS Next Pro as a testing ground for tweaks before seeing if they'll work in MLS proper. I've got no real problem with them using shootouts for a bonus point if they want to, but it's VERY American of them.
