Which was the obvious chance for a random, international investor to intervene. And yet they were conspicuous by their absence, and the club died. The Tribute Act is now definitely in its death throes. It has survived so far on soft loans and a fan narrative of 'returning' to where they 'came from': now they're facing the fact that they're just a gubbins top flight football side and a basket case behind the scenes. They'll now have to ditch Murty and bring in a big name manager before June, using utterly ludicrous promises to secure that gig and keep the season tickets selling, that they can't deliver on. But that'll keep the lights on until December. The second half of the season will require yet another loan. It's a question of when, not if, Sevco die now. Every crushing blow to their gormless fanbase - like being gubbed by the bottom of the league side - now speeds up their demise. What a time to be alive.
