Anyone have any recommendations for an island stay for a big group of 16-20 (for future when hopefully Covid has calmed down a bit)?

Looking for somewhere that has whisky, golf and a big lodge/accommodation for a big group and would appreciate any suggestions!

Bute is not one of your classic islands  but this place was great. Ticks 2 out 3 boxes (take your own whisky) https://www.cottages.com/cottages/st-blanes-house-30836?nights=7&range=3&adult=20&infant=0&audience=ldc

Islay is perfect for golf and whisky but not sure about accomodation for that size of party. Arran also could be the place to go with seven golf courses and two distillerries. I know there's a bunkhouse in the south of the island that could accomodate you and it's reasonably priced too. Link - https://kilmoryhaven.com/

Aye Islay would be first choice, struggled to find somewhere to stay so far.

Arran is the place for whisky and golf.

Islay would be good but the advantage of Arran is excellent bus service of you are having a drink and isn't an utter pain in the arse to get to from central belt.

Islay is a bit spread out you really need a designated driver.

Islay Beach Cottage on Kilnaughton Bay has the big house and the wee house next door, you'd probably get 16 in there. http://www.islay-beach-cottage.co.uk/mobile.html

There's also Lipachlairy along the road which has two cottages next door to each other. Think that would only take about a dozen though. https://lipachlairy.co.uk/accommodation/

The other big place I can think of is the youth hostel in Port Charlotte, which is massive but no doubt basic. https://www.hostellingscotland.org.uk/hostels/port-charlotte-islay/

Somebody here mentioned the Storm Pods at Lagavulin. If you booked a few of those they'd possibly take a big group. https://islay-pods.co.uk/

Finally, it's my civic duty to add that the guy that runs Lach Mhara is an absolute twat. Please don't give him any money. I stayed nearby once and was left to entertain his B&B guests - overseas visitors tipped out a taxi, no car, pishing rain - because he didn't show up at the appointed hour to greet them. He ignored my calls to find out what to do with them and didn't give me a single word of thanks when he eventually turned up to collect them. Total cock of a man, the only person I've ever disliked on Islay.

Visited the three (easily accessible) slate islands of Seil/Luing/Easdale in a day last weekend: they're well worth visiting. Some enjoyable and unconventional ferry trips with a magnificent Cullen skink and pint at the Oyster Bar at Ellenabeich as well.

The constant showers over Mull produced similar rainbow scenes to the above all day long but the Third World upload limit on here means that only this one can be uploaded.

A visit to Little Cumbrae today: the now abandoned sister island to Greater Cumbrae (Millport) that sits further out in the Firth towards Arran. The handful of houses and the lighthouse are still intact apart from having more broken glass than the Ayr United team last week. Cumbrae Castle - on its own tidal island sitting off the main berth - is a remarkably well kept tower when you consider that there's no official presence there at all.

A fantastic day out with Clyde Charters who have started up different trips from the Clyde Riviera or Largs in this case. Glad to tick another island off the list and they're already talking about doing a trip to Inchmarnock off the west coast of Bute next year.
