Without entering debate over the debts etc. - it strikes me that several implications from rejoining and starting playing, or rejoining but not playing, are fairly ludicrous or hilarious (or both?!).

Rejoining and starting playing... they had played 3 games, all heavy defeats, and these were expunged after they resigned. Would they have had to be "inpunged" again? Is there such a word in the dictionary  ? Alternatively could they have been played again potentially ending in lighter defeats, draws, or wins? Without working floodlights could a club even fulfil a full season's worth of games in half a season? Double-header games for double points?

Rejoining but not playing, finishing on P0 W0 L0 D0 F0 A0 +-0 0pts... in theory this could be enough to finish bottom, but if you look at HL a situation has occurred where Fort William's got deducted 9pts for fielding an ineligible player and are still on -7pts just now. Imagine if the same happened to one of the clubs toward the bottom of LL - it would surely rank among the greatest pub quiz questions ever, the time a football club didn't actually play any games but still avoided bottom and relegation :o!

I actually find the debts issue one of the more interesting aspects to this situation. They referred to "regaining its licence" and "get our licence again". It doesn't exactly sound like Selkirk FC has been liquidated or in administration.

It’s clear that the vast majority of Selkirk’s debt is owed to one person who may be prepared to write that off. However there are football related debts, to former players for example that I would imagine would have to be settled before the club was able to continue in its current form in any league set up?

There's a huge amount of confusion over the whole situation. When the team folded, those at the meeting were under the impression the club would go into administration. It seems this isn't the case, assuming nobody came forward to "claim their debt".

The clubrooms have been closed and all water drained. The Vics and Juniors have maintained the pitches and use changing facilities at rugby and cricket clubs.

It now seems that the first team have found some sort of financial backing with plans to come back into the EoS league. Jaydee Sharkey and Secretary Shiree Davidson are behind it all. Shiree is the committee member from the old regime that is owed the massive personal debt (which explains the effort to secure investment).

Again it had been suggested previously that if they ever made a come back it would have to be with a new committee following the amount of wrongdoings and cover ups previously - that seems to have gone out the window. APPARENTLY no charges could be made against the ex chairman (as had been hoped) as others in the committee were aware of the finances during his reign.

Heard rumours that Hibs are planning to run some sort of side in the EoS through Selkirk. Part of the failure to attract support when it went belly up in the summer was down to no interest in the town, hard to see how this would help! Can't see there being any local engagement once again.

A lot speculation and only time will tell. No idea how the SFA visit went this week and what is happening as a result.

I thought Jaydee  was bad enough, now there's a Shiree.

So Shiree is the one owed the money? What business is she in (serious question)?

I wonder if Selkirk Victoria will apply to EoS or continue in the Ammies.

No chance Selkirk Victoria will apply for EoS. Not enough interest in the town for a senior side.

Focus will be looking to keep the pitches and hopefully getting access to the changing rooms again for them and Selkirk Juniors.
