Would be even more of a mockery if that was the system and the licensing embargo is still in place by the end of the season.  That would actively be blocking clubs.   Let's see what happens but a huge amount is riding on this embargo.

What’s the planned timeline for lifting the licensing embargo ? How many clubs are “licence ready” now and being denied benefits of being licenced due to the embargo ? It has to be lifted immediately. It’s like making your own citizens apply for a visa and then taking away the ability to apply. It’s bonkers - pyramid will only work properly once full unrestricted licensing in place.

Applications for the league places at this stage would make a mockery of the pyramid system. If there are two spots it either needs to be a licensed EOS and SOS winner, or two licensed EOS winners. If there aren't two licensed clubs between the three EOS winners and SOS winner then the existing LL club should stay in the league.

Their hands are tied by their current rules to some extent. Someone suggested that they could still be changed at this stage, but they would run the risk of being accused of moving the goalposts. Assuming they eventually do have an election, I think it would only make a mockery of the pyramid system if they didn't elect any of the clubs listed above (ie the extra relegated LL club, the EoS/SoS play-off losers or the highest placed licensed team from the EoS championship play-off).

However, they should definitely look to revise their rules for next season to prevent a repeat of this scenario being possible.

Were any licence applications submitted to the PWG meeting (last week ?), and if so, were these applications considered or deferred ?

What is the official SFA reason for the "embargo" being in place ?

Spotted this article while having a look to see if there was any news around Selkirk. Hopefully they'll be in the EoS next year in some form.

Interesting they  reapplied to the LL and were rejected as the team that would be relegated  ?

I don't think there's a mechanism for them to be allowed back in midseason like that. Even if they did just have the spot of 16th in name only without having to play any games.  Also avoids the farce of them being relegated into the EoS Premier instead of having to start from the bottom next season.

Interesting quote in that article: "And it is now likely that they will rejoin the East of Scotland Conference C next season if the revival plan is successful.". Whoever has written that article clearly doesn't know anything about what's going on in the EOS at the moment...

Seems that way. Writer assumed ‘C’ was the lowest league

Not the only inaccuracy either. Selkirk weren't kicked out of the LL. They resigned.
