Horrible day for it as it's 40.2 although was probably only 37 then. Where they're headed, the Barossa Valley, will be even hotter by another 1-2 degrees. Especially for some of the riders who only arrived in the last couple of days. Cooler tomorrow at 28 then 35, 29, 30 & 34 with possibility of rain on Thursday & Friday. Thunder storms and possibility of a lot of rain forecast for later in the day but race should be over before that hits if the Bureau of Meteorology have got it right. Route heads south of Adelaide, not quite hogging the coast as in previous years but it means it should be 2-3 degrees cooler than Adelaide for most of the run, even cooler towards the finish.
