Watching the TDU, this year looks very interesting with Porte, Chaves, Gerrans and ohers looking like possible winners for the GC, with Caleb Ewan and Peter Sagan looking to win the Sprints.

Saw them going past in North Adelaide when was having my hair cut this morning. Horrible day for it as it's 40.2 although was probably only 37 then. Where they're headed, the Barossa Valley, will be even hotter by another 1-2 degrees.

They've just shortened the route by 25km, when I ride in 30C I feel shite, I can only imagine how hard it is.

Today is very overcast and at 11am is just over 27 with atop of 37 forecast. Thunder storms and possibility of a lot of rain forecast for later in the day but race should be over before that hits if the Bureau of Meteorology have got it right. Route heads south of Adelaide, not quite hogging the coast as in previous years but it means it should be 2-3 degrees cooler than Adelaide for most of the run, even cooler towards the finish.

30 degree high forecast for Adelaide today but race starts about 40kms south in McLaren Vale wine region so bit cooler. It's 19 just now (09:56) so probably 18 down there and maybe 20 by the time the race starts.
