Berlin is pretty much on lockdown. All the museums, pubs and restaurants are closed. Nothing to do but walk the streets, talk of shutting down parks this week too.

Yeah, a Friday was good mostly everything was open, a place we went to immediately shut when the announcement for Monday came out.

You could still get in the majority of places on Saturday but some places were just having lock ins for regulars.

Sunday was mental, almost nowhere open at all.

Anyone ever stayed at hotel amano near Hauptbanhof?
Going to book up for next year and looks handy for transport connections and not too expensive for the location.

I’ve always looked at this place but never actually booked. Looks alright to me and as you say it’s straight across from the hauptbahnof with tram and bus stops a stones throw away. There is a lot of building work going on pretty much in all directions from the hotel. But if it’s just someplace to sleep you’re after it should be fine.

Not a whole lot around, it is close by the TRYP Berlin Mitte where we stayed the first time, but public transportation is excellent so no worries.

Aye we’ve chucked that idea and just going to go back to the Park Inn in Alexanderplatz.

I usually stay at Leonardo Royal Alexanderplatz when I visit Berlin. 5min walk from Alexanderplatz and right besides Volkspark Friedrichshain.

Guilty that was June 2018.

Will check it out next year.

Hope you kept some of those minter stickers for Falkirk FC's actual tours of Stranraer, Peterhead and Cove instead.

Bought tickets to go see Jungle at Huxleys Berlin in February next year. Hopefully things have sorted themselves out a bit by then.

They were only coming as far north as Manchester and flying to Berlin is arguably less hassle.

Went to Berlin for new year about 5 years ago. Would definitely recommend avoiding any organised displays and go to the north kreuzberg on the bank of the Spree close to the bridge that takes you to Friedrischain/opposite East Side gallery.

It's rammed full of people setting off their own fireworks everywhere, boisterous affair so not for the faint hearted. Even the journey from Neukoln to there that night was lively.
