ALL the teams currently in the LL are there because of the results and points achieved on the pitch !!

No matter how they arrived in the league they have been able to stay there due to their results on the pitch.

So far OG Broomhill and all the rest of those that are deemed not to be 'Proper Clubs' have done exactly that and until that changes and they go down - or up, then they deserve to be in the LL.

It really is that simple.

Not too difficult to stay in a league with four relegations in nine years.

...only because of a very restrictive self-preservation society approach to pro/rel. Enjoy it while it lasts because now the like of VoL and Hawick Royal Albert have fallen on the sword you probably won't be there much longer and after that trips to Creetown and Wigtown beckon unless you can persuade the powers that be to relegate you into the EoS or WoS instead.

Especially if you're not finishing anywhere near the relegation zone. I'm no fan of OG Broomhill, but until last season their worst season in the LL was their first - 9th of 14. Since then they've finished above such 'giants' as Kelty, Boness, East Stirlingshire, Spartans etc.

They may have got there via form-filling, but they've stayed there on merit so far. Fingers crossed though...

Agreed that they done quite well throughout the years but the lack of relegations in that time also makes it easier to do well as there aren't many stronger teams coming in. I think they'll struggle over the next few years (if they even survive).

I'm well aware of that, just countering the point that they somehow played their way into the LL.  They filled in a form.

So did every team in the West of Scotland League, and a lot of teams in the East, does that lessen their status in those organisations?

Talbot aren't in a higher league than Maybole because they filled in a form before them.

A few in the east are but they are actively creating a meritocracy with their level of ventilation.

See above from the Arab.

They joined a new league, as did Broomhill, the difference being that the West had something to reference, the junior leagues. My point is that since they have came into the league Broomhill have more than held their own, and if a similar scenario were to happen to the LL (as happened to the juniors) they would be in the top division.

You're forgetting that talbot like a 100+other clubs had exactly the same chance to fill in the same form but didn't take the chance they decided to keep playing in the juniors. why was that do we know thet reason, without question present LL clubs will be relegated but its to say they only got there by filling in form.think they just took thier chance when it arose.

Every year there were more applicants than vacancies filled: 17,7,5,3.

So you're right it wasn't a case of just filling out a form. There came the human element & its biases that came to picking clubs to fill the vacancies. Little different to how the SFL made some their picks back in the day.

Aye your right but they still took their chance.do we know if any of the juniors filled out the form.the 17 clubs who joined the east of scotland only did so one season after kelty skooshed the league. by filling out a form, i get that people on here dont like broomhill but they have done everything by the rules, they applied and the board at that time must have liked what they saw compared to the others.

Personally, I don't blame clubs who got to the party early to have taken advantage of the situation at the time. Others had that chance as well. However, now there are so many clubs in feeder leagues there just has to be a fair promotion/relegation system which there isn't now (and no, the SPFL not opening up is NOT an excuse). If that would have existed than far fewer people would have complained as clubs would sooner find their natural level. If the likes of Broomhill, Braves etc. would manage to stay in the LL also once many big ex-juniors have come up, absolutely fair enough and then they have shown they have the quality to remain at this level.

Instead, the LL voted to block further relegation and instead disrespect the pyramid and their feeder leagues by letting these awful B-teams in. There is no excuse for that.

The Colts long time head honcho - basically the guy most associated with that club over the years - quitting over OG Broomhill moving into Broadwood. Wonder if they were given the shout that it would be their home completely after we left and now are having to share with another club in their division?

He looks incredibly….. awful

Pretty clear Slane's been brought in as an Eddie-the-Eagle type comically awful player who builds a 'cult' following and maybe drives interest in a club no one cares about.

Will come on as sub with 10 mins to go when BSC are 4-0 up away on some university playing field.
