Tonight was the first big blunder by McKinnon tactically. Fans giving Dixon a horrendous time, yeah he had a shocker but would inexperienced, lightweight (and not that quick) Robson have done much better against Humphries? Similarly with Toshney, Dillon would have been ripped apart too. McKinnon didn't protect his exposed fullbacks by playing a narrow sitting midfield (that didn't once impose themselves on the game).Van der Velden had a nightmare but again the tactics meant he was asked to do a job he simply cannot. It looked a little like we were beginning to get possession of the ball but essentially what happened was Hibs sat back ready to break and said "c'mon then, have a go", we didn't even manage that.
