Slag him and where he lives all you want, but if he was managing you, think you might not be in the bother you are now, just a thought

Although he chooses to forget it when he talks about his glittering career, he did manage us and was a complete disaster.

Still shudder at it god that was nearly 30 years ago.

Regardless of what happened 30 year ago he'd still have you in a much better position now than Fox

Love having him at us genuinely feel like we can pull off some cracking signings every window and feels like a safe pair of hands

It's going to be tough for first timers getting jobs in this league now I think with the relegation spot in. We so very nearly paid the ultimate price in the gamble we took on TL although tbf nobody thought we'd be anywhere near it before it happened

Dick was like what Fox is now  a young rookie manager, think he was 33 when he became our manager. It probably actually stood him in good stead for management later in career with all the mistakes he made back then.

To be fair to him there was a lot of unrest behind the scenes - a popular manager Joe Craig was sacked and there was unrest in the boardroom with spilt divisions. Although he spent a few quid on some terrible players.

Yeah. Good to see young guys/1st timers still getting chances though, Mackay and Petrie recently, all appointments are gambles but maybe clubs will start to be a bit more cautious if Fox for example takes Cowden down

You make a fair point  about clubs maybe being more hesitant on going for rookies with the threat of going out of the league. Most managerial appointments have risks in the last 2 seasons the experienced Jimmy Nicholl and the rookie Colin Nish both got us relegated.

Most league 1 and 2 appointments are less experienced managers - Dick was sacked from his last post in League 1

After just the 7 years though

What's the weather like down there by the way? Much the same as everywhere else? Shite wet and windy winters day but nothing overly bad?

Think game will be on?

Really looking forward to it so hope it makes it

Depends on overnight - 12 noon today Ok, 2pm would have been off, 4pm a bit of work and would probably have been Ok. We will see first thing

Heard there's an inspection at 8

Even the worst of the storm supposed to have died down by 6am so think it'll be ok

If the last game managed to stay on hopeful for this one least it's not a long journey

Think Dick probably went stale at Forfar after a few decent stabs at promotion I suppose you can stay in a job two long.

I'm just in and the wind has died down and it isn't raining.
