Old Firm Colts in L2

Recommended Posts

Results are in.

http://www.scottishsupporters.net/results-of-supporter-led-consultation-on-colt-team-proposals/

Key points:

  • 1071 replies
  • 74.4%  are against Colt teams being allowed into the league
  • 64.3% would not watch their team against a colt side
  • 69.8% do not believe it would improve elite young players

Poor wording of their question about how high up the leagues colt clubs could go means the response to that question was meaningless.

Results have been forwarded to the SPFL who have agreed to look at them.

Most important comment in the article: Fans representing all 42 SPFL member clubs filled in the survey with the most fans from one single club being Clyde’s who made up 18.9% of the 1,069 respondents to this question #bigclub

This proposal could ruin lower league football for many years. With this in mind it's a disappointing number of responses from fans of other clubs.
Clyde put the link to the survey on the front page their official site. It looks like most other clubs didn't bother.

Clyde the only club to do that it looks like.

Well if the SPFL asks clubs for their views they don't necessarily then all need to have some sort of a referendum on it. Clubs views are regularly sought and fed back to SPFL and the Directors are responsible for that

Not arguing with you mate or saying every club should've done what Clyde done just saying.

Consultation in Scottish football is paying lip service at its best. The last SPFL shuffle had the bottom two divisions lose cash and lose some of the little power we had. If the bigger clubs want this to happen it will. That's the truth of it.

Celtics vote counts the same as Cowdenbeaths vote.

What's he saying? It doesn't show the link on your post?

I'm still a noob at this Tweetering thing

"Position not yet declared, but fans views are welcome. While not determining the Club view they will of course influence"

Here's the word from our chairman. Make of it what you will.

The views of the people keeping the club alive will not determine the club's view, but they will be considered. How generous of him.

I put it on Twitter last night, but get him emailed, Waspies.
