Gunning was outstanding again for us, and Lindsay had a good game. I had no idea why the goal was disallowed either but others on here are suggesting it was handball. Referee was average at best, for both sides. Cowshed linesman was at least 10 yards behind play when Robinson failed to keep a ball in play and the referee had to award the corner despite having no clear view of it - dreadful stuff. Thought Tidser should have replaced Forbes, who looked knackered late on. MacDonagh's challenge and knock saw Scullion get a warm up - but no appearance yet. The players looked delighted to have gotten a win again after 1 point from the last 2 games. Hope they are up for stuffing the skunks next week. Same when oyenuga picked up his injury last week. Scullion seemed to go through a pretty rigorous warm up then he brought kilday on.

vikingTON
QOSFC Match Report says that Lyle out-muscled Gunning to set-up Dobbie for the disallowed goal and the referee's interpretation was that Lyle fouled Gunning. Yet, 9 times out of 10 the defender wouldn't get the decision. No, Lyle quite clearly did not. The salty, salty tears from the Borders' Bumpkins' fans and official page at your only 'goal' being obviously disallowed in 180 minutes of football v The Famous (6 goals) are utterly delicious though. Enjoy your complete and utter failure this Christmas.

C B
Maybe the Ref and myself were the only ones that saw it but the QOS 'goal' was chalked off for Lyles clear basketball hand control to set up the chanceEnd of controversy !

I'm just trying to think where Morton were the last two times we reached the play offs, maybe you could help me out ?

I like VT's patter. I would read it for a whole day before unblocking a rusty1111 post. Given Morton's current run of form and the two wins he is entitled to be smug about it even if there was little in today's game. As has become disappointingly regular though, we found a way to lose anyway.

tonnitus
That run from Mikey Doyle in the first half was immense. Tidser shored up the game and, all told, we were never in too much danger of losing (IMO). And the bells were ringin' out, for Lee Kilday... Slightly fortuitous to win but a reflection of the relative confidence of both squads and a tremendous delivery (again) from Forbes who always seems to do well against us. Rajamaki's Ponytail
Correct! 12 December 2015 we drew with Rangers 2-2 at Ibrox and the players all hopped on a bus straight from the game to Liverpool. The following Saturday we lost 2-1 at Cappielow to Raith with their customary last minute goal against us (a penalty). One Jai Quitongo made his first team debut in that game coming on as a sub in the last 2 minutes. Raith were the last minute specialists that season scoring the winner in injury time in three of our four matches. This season so far its Falkirk who have that title having equalised against us in the 92nd and 93rd minutes respectively in our matches so far. The Raith game was a Friday night on Alba. Given how poor Morton were in the second half we were just about worth a point but lost after conceding a very foolish free kick (Marshall) and then giving O Ware a free header (Brownlee). Not sure why Dobbie goal was disallowed?Early days but haven't been impressed by Naysmith. If we compare the Dunfermline reaction to a 1-0 HT deficit last week to our reaction today............for the first 20 mins of second half we were pedestrian despite having the wind and needing a goal to avoid yet another insipid defeat. Teams are not even having to play well to beat us. Very few of our players got pass marks and I now turn up at games fearing the worst (and usually get it). Again we were able to field a decent enough 11 on paper but players seriously underperforming week after week. You acknowledge it`s early days for Naysmith, I`d agree with that and would add we can`t really judge him until he gets a chance to boost the squad in January. As you say the starting 11 is reasonable but other than Carmichael who isn`t fully fit and Hooper who isn`t going to change a game the bench is just kids beyond that. Only 1 more game albeit one that looks crucial before Naysmith can boost the squad. Let`s reserve judgement until then.

I'm just trying to think where Morton were the last two times we reached the play offs, maybe you could help me out ? Lol wut Leaving aside our effortlessly superior form to the two other contenders, it's at worst a 60% outcome. That's including hilarious, long-shot scenarios like your gubbins outfit actually having a say in proceedings. When the teams met in mid October, gormless rattle wavers like yourself genuinely thought that you'd challenge for promotion in this or in any other season. But then The Famous put you effortlessly back in your box with our 0-5 hounding. And clearly rubbed salt in those same wounds yesterday. Pity, that. vikingTON
I hope Santa brings VT some new patter tomorrow. He'd be better off bringing you credible strikers instead of the clapped-out, geriatric mess of a forward line that you've washed up with. Unlucky.
