Not on the Lanark committee bud but yeah your right he is a Lanark fan. Who could forget the year we beat them to promotion despite him doing everything for them bar winning the pointsemoji23.pngemoji23.png. The 2-0 win v them at the Vale was especially sweet

Your correct he stepped down from committee. Although he has been treasurer and president of Lanark and is avid fan of the club. Neutral  haha that's brilliant he has put that on sjfa site.!    He absolutely hates us.

How is it that so many folk don't have the time to serve on their club committee, but they can apparently spend hours  every day on P & B forums?

And the time that you take is relative to your own club and specifically for your own club. Multiply that by the number of clubs within the relevant association and the effort required to collate any/all information pertinant to all your members, update previous information, engage with any/all external agencies/internal partners and then make sure the information is formatted, posted/issued in a timely manner and then follow up/deal with responses/enquiries generated as a direct result of the information disseminated. Anything less than an exemplary response or service (that was the standard/benchmark set by the poster I was replying to) would be deemed nothing less than failure. The only thing worse than no information is dated/incorrect information, a fact borne out on here by the number of posts that fly up as soon as something wrong/incorrect is posted.

The time frame required to meet that standard, in my opinion, is correct and based on a service something similar that we provide to a racecourse.

The one flaw, IMO, in your well balanced argument is that junior clubs are run by committees that give their time freely, the SJFA are paid, agreed that a lot of juniors sites etc aren't up to date but shouldn't the lead come from the top and the rest will follow?

The issue is that those at the top table consider social media a hindrance rather than a useful tool in getting out information to their member clubs & their fans .
