Why is this thread in the thicko Junior forum?

Anyway, obvious solution is play it at Tynecastle. Big crowd, everyone makes a bit of cash, and the Rose players get to receive a hiding off the Hibs at their "holy ground".

and of course the Hibs players get the chance to play at a Premiership Stadium as well

I know I am thick, especially on matters such as being a part time student, and living a high life by dating 'next Wednesday'.

But where are we on the Bonnyrigg Rose game being played at Tynecastle? As I understand it the Rose would want it played there, Hearts are all for it, and Hibs would also prefer it as it is a ground they already know.

The fans of both clubs seem mainly to prefer Tynecastle, although a few who are not fans and bumping their gums on P&B as to why not.

The SFA as ever are trying their best to avoid making a decision, which seems to be their specialist skill. However if they have already offered the Spartan's ground as an option in discussions with Bonnyrigg Rose, it would appear they are not against a move in principle.

So what is the hold up??

As the SFA is still searching for a non racist Performance Director ( and ideally non arrogant, not lazy, not rude, good communicator, and not against women's football), and trying hard to avoid creating any form of enquiry on paedo coaches etc they could at least get this relatively trivial issue done and dusted and out of the way.

Pm me if you want I'll talk you through it. ;)

And to be honest I think Tynecastle is the likely venue here. You need to remember that it's still a month away, there's plenty of time to sort everything out in regards to date/time/allocation for each club/policing/stewarding before announcing it. Which would surely be the smart thing to do..? Three way thing between both Edinburgh clubs and Bonnyrigg.

I thought the alternative ground was meant to be of a reasonably similar sized ground closest to original home club. The ability to cash in was not an option.

We need to get confirmation from the SFA that NDP is unsuitable to host the tie, first of all. I suspect that it will not be suitable.

Then, the game is moved to an appropriate neutral ground of at least equivalent capacity closest to the two clubs. It depends how tightly the SFA interpret that rule as to which ground they would pick. Tynecastle would be an option (probably most logical), but they could feasibly go for other grounds like Meadowbank or Ainslie Park.

You are right that a club cannot and should not (in my opinion) just move to get a bigger gate, only if the ground cannot host the tie for policing or safety issues. First choice ground is the home team's.

Even if the rules don't specify the words "neutral venue", it can't be played at Easter Road - that much is not in doubt - so if it's not at NDP, then by definition it'll be at a neutral venue.

As has been covered numerous times... it must first be established if NDP could safely host the tie, with whatever capacity that could entail. If it can the SFA then seems to have BRA asking to move it anyway for a bigger crowd and more money. If either aspect sees a move permitted, the question of what venue the SFA approve depends how rigidly they interpret "nearest" + "equivalent capacity".

Despite the paranoia of some there is no difference here compared to Albion rover's. And the same arguments are to be made(these are easily available for the paranoid to go and check).

Clubs should do everything within there power to host ties at home. I don't think it's right for clubs to benifit financially from not meeting the required standards. IMO all income from tickets sold above the normal home ground capacity should not go to the clubs but collected by the SFA and added to the general prize money pot, this would make sure clubs perform their duties in doing there best to host ties.

Ok so that rule is not in place, and moving to tynecastle can realistically happen allowing bonnyrigg to cash in, but they are being abit nieve here, they should have made noises about wanting to play at NDP but state concerns(these can be exaggerated) and they would probably get there wish.

Can I just point out the rule about moving tie states "AT LEAST, equivalent ground size" That is not the same as "equivalent ground size" so this rule should not be a factor in holding it at Tynecastle.

I think Bonnyrigg have already told SFA in writing that NDP isnt suitable so the matter is now with them. Feck knows when the decision will be taken.
