Wow! That just about couldn't have been much closer in the end. Leader MicroDave's prediction of Gary Anderson to secure the World Championship failed to materialise, which opened the door for those challenging behind. And it was Davied85 and former World Matchplay winner Dougie Mills who took full advantage with maximum points, but it was the former who has taken the title in thrilling fashion to become our sixth World Champion! Congratulations, and the signed Gary Anderson photo will be on its way.

Diamond_For_Life finished runner-up in both the Premier League and Grand Prix in 2016, and has followed that consistency up with a third place in the World Championship. The experienced F_T_Y has emulated his finish of last year by finishing fifth, with Grand Slam runner-up Stuarty in sixth. Two-time major champion The Naitch completed a solid performance in seventh, while defending champion Davis Love III was the best performing former winners in eighth. Poet of the Macabre was ninth, while a trio of ex champions in Tigerton, Honestly United and Callum-Ayr enhanced the event with their presence.

I thank you all for playing, and hope that the Prediction League added a little bit more to what was a brilliant championship over the festive period. In the face of declining entries for the other events, I'm considering the future of these leagues, but we'll certainly do the Premier League in February, and absolutely the World Championship in December. I hope to see you all taking part in those. Happy New Year, and I hope it's a positive one ahead for you.
