Bundesliga Boy
Great minds. Here's hoping we get a response from one of the locals. 'BroughtyAthletic JFC' broke the story a couple of years back so hopefully he's still active and able to provide an update.
Burnie_man
There was also Lochee Harp's new ground.
Ginaro
Planning permission was granted in November 2016, but subject to conditions which required details of the fencing, grandstand etc. to be submitted before development. These were added in September, which may explain the delay? http://idoxwam.dundeecity.gov.uk/idoxpa-web/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=O9S2AXGCMXO00

Whilst 3G is a recognised industry standard (with variations in grass length for different sports), 4G and 5G are names used for improved versions by various but not all producers, but without any consistent industry wide specifications to speak of. 4G and beyond will inevitably come but as things stand, 3G is the highest spec of synthetic surface. Glad somebody pointed this out. At Whitehill we spoke to a provider of artificial pitches who said virtually the same thing, although to be fair they might have just been saying this in self defence. If anything it should be compared to computer upgrades, e.g. 3.1, 3.2.

Everyone would know where they stand rather than the lazy journalism you see in the press surrounding mythical 4g surfaces. Would be great to see a 3G at Ferguson Park but then again I do like heading through towards the end of the season to see some previously postponed fixtures in midweek with the sun shining. It’s so picturesque.

Yes it’s possibly the best away day in the LL.
