The other US vote

The current type that resides in Westminster will see that it doesn't change here for the present sadly. Public perception is generally alot more pro weed then ever before, however no MP would be willing to risk their job openly supporting this.

Never, as long as we are ruled by a Tory government there is no way it will ever happen.

SNP would also bottle it if they had the power imo.

It'll never go to a referendum like it has in US states as the government know what the result would be.

I don't see the difference in the position of either government when it comes to drugs. Labour were just as bad if not worse when it came to not listening to the public or their own advisors.

I agree but there's much more chance of flexibility with any government other than the Tories, they are so anti-drugs they'd just shove their fingers in their ears before you had a chance to make your case.

You only need to check the DM website to see how cannabis is blamed for everything and anything they can associate it with.

They're going crazy for it over here, given that its pretty much already legalised, you just book an appointment and tell the 'doctor' that you have a sore leg, they then give you a prescription for cannabis and yer good. Think for vegas they will genuinely make fortunes. Id be fine with legalising it in the UK as long as people were licensed to use it by a private prescription and use the money to offset the mental health issues its gonna cause.

Hard to tell if loonies tend to smoke more dope or smoking it sends them that way. Where are you based?

Cannabis is demonstrably less bad for the individual and society than alcohol.   All studies show this, if you believe you should need a prescription for cannabis then you should definitely need one for alcohol.   Bet you wouldn't support that though.  Treat people like adults, legalise, regulate and tax it, problem solved.

How can organised crime profit from a freely available legal substance?   How do you evaluate latent psychological factors?   Do you propose similar for alcohol?   Given most violent crime including murders are committed by drunk people would you evaluateppropensity for violence and aggression before granting a licence to buy alcohol?
