He only ran as a spoiler for Bernie so I’d imagine Biden winning the nomination and his complete obliteration from Trump was probably enough.

I dunno. You just can't find a rampant egomaniac billionaire when you need one. Un-re-liable.

I don't think they've had a third-party candidate that people took (briefly) serious since 1992. Folk were losing their shit in 2000 when Ralph Nader looked like he might get 5% of the vote, and the fury against folk who dared to vote for the person they'd most like to win was delicious.

Weird random stat of the day; around 40% of eligible voters in America don't bother to vote for their president, and that's been more-or-less true for a hundred years (it's often more). Turnout hasn't broken, or even come close to, 70% since 1900. Seems the home of modern democracy is, in practice, a bit ambivalent about the need for it.

Not sure how he's squaring "lowest black unemployment..in history" when they currently have the highest overall unemployment figures since records began.

Clearly fiddling the figures. It's not that long since an unemployed negro was a dead negro in his country.

It’s hard to find sympathy for a country where so many people don’t vote.

On an individual level there will be reasons this happens and there are documented examples of officials making it difficult for minority groups to register.

Nonetheless voting is a lot easier and more productive than protesting and these numbers could entirely change the political landscape of the USA.

BTW similar applies to the U.K. and Scotland.

“This is an awful man, waving a book he hasn’t read, in front of a church he doesn’t attend, invoking laws he doesn’t understand, against fellow Americans he sees as enemies, wielding a military he dodged serving, to protect power he gained via accepting foreign interference, exploiting fear and anger he loves to stoke, after failing to address an epidemic he was warned about, and building it all on a bed of lies and childish inanity.”

The same level of criticism should be levelled at the Republicans who continue to support him, even those who simply remain silent are complicit.

Arguably they are worse than he is because they are predominately career politicians whereas he is a self-interested moron who is destroying their party.

Because Joe Biden is the same as Donald Trump.  Fucksake.

It's a shame you feel that way but hopefully he'll make a VP appointment that caters to people like you that aren't enthused by his track record.

The fact that voting has changed nothing in the last 50 years is precisely why we must this time.

Bookmarking some of these Biden posts for when he turns up at the debates, sniffs the Fox News lady's hair, mumbles something incoherent about 'coloureds on the bus' and 'this collard greens malarkey' before collapsing with his eye weeping blood.

Maybe someone should suggest a trip to the theatre.
Might be worth a try.

Pity Edward Kennedy wasn't still around - he could offer to give him a lift home.
