The Official President Trump thread

Recommended Posts

This is on Bernie though if he doesn’t go baws oot over this in the debates. Nobody from the Dems or Republicans have a sensible public healthy policy to deal with this.

Trump is going to crush the election in November. He’s outflanked the Dems from the left and will do the same to Biden. Game’s a bogey.

If it wasn't  already over, then that's it tonight. There's nothing coming back unless Biden is admitted.

f**k you Pete and Amy pulling out on the Monday before Super Tuesday. f**k you too Obama.

I watched the debate and was hoping for something even though its not in Bernie's nature, just something ; but Biden was coherent and lied enough (a lot) to get through it. I'm sad we won't ever see even just Candidate Sanders but President Sanders.

Overblown and so on, but that video at the end of the debate with Bernie basically saying 'thanks, but see youse later ' was terrific. Dana Bash didn't even look up to acknowledge him.

God bless you Bernie and if we shitebags Jocks ever vote for a nation, I'd hope you'd somehow be an honorary citizen through your brother.  America doesn't deserve you.

I think Biden might actually win come November, he's winning the right areas in the primaries (then again, he wasn't Hillary) but he may well win the likes of Penn ; NC ; Wisconsin from the independents who've had their fun with Trump.

Then again, a long way to go til November and a lot of Corona too.

Still, watch this, and if this doesn't tug at your heart strings or ''democratic'' sides then you are most likely American.

God bless you Bernie! What a man!

Saunders is the American Corbyn.

Not a rats chance in hell of becoming President, and any Democrat with an ounce of sense should be breathing a sigh of relief that Biden will at least have a reasonable chance of toppling the orange baboon.

Yup. But that doesn’t stop him being the best man in the race by a nautical mile.

Speaking of which, Russian Tulsi still hasn’t withdrawn from the race. I wonder why not?

Hanging on for Biden to be put in a care home, or catch the virus.

She’d still lose to the virus.

I'm presuming that's the opinion of someone who supports left of centre politics in a left of centre country.

Labour made that mistake by blindly sticking with Corbyn because he was 'the best man with the best policies'....they looked at it from inside a Socialist bubble. In the real world, Corbyn was repellent to many voters in the middle ground, and the result was an overwhelming majority for a ridiculous, right-wing populist.

The same would happen with Saunders. Trump would eat him alive.

Trump’s strategy for months now has been to frame the Democrat nominee as a DNC stitch up against Sanders. Anyone who thinks that Sleepy Joe winning the nomination doesn’t have Trump rubbing his hands with glee hasn’t been paying attention. Sanders is consistently voted one of the most popular politicians in America and has consistently outpolled Trump in head to head polling. That Trump will now use Biden essentially being anointed to keep people home in November and outflank the Dems from the left in their response to the Coronavirus is so obvious that I’m sure I’ve even seen one of the 700 Pod Save America Jon clones stressing out about it.

I mean imagine being the nominally left party in America and being framed as the means testers for a pandemic response. The Democrats want to be a rump party even more than the Labour centre.

Feel bad for Sanders, all the young Dems will have paid heed to what's up and not gone to vote while all the boomers will have rubbed an onion under each armpit and confidently headed out the door & voted for Biden.

That's just not true, infact its the opposite of the way things are.  All polling shows now and in 2016 Sanders would beat Trump.  Biden will not.

While that may be true, Biden beats Trump by a wider margin in all of the swing states, which is entirely all the Dems need,

If its Biden Trump wins.  Watch this space.  There are millions of Dem voters who will not vote for Biden, same as they would not for Killary.

Latest polls, for what it's worth. They also said Clinton was way ahead too.

They weren't far wrong, the national polling didn't really matter much though but Hillary did have a comfortablish vote lead over Trump in that sense which held.

If you go through the same website and look state by state in 2016, there wasn't a huge amount of data and places like Michigan, Florida, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania were actually quite close when taken by decent pollsters in the 'A' category, 538 gave their last projection as being a 33% chance that Trump had of victory, in 2012 they had Romney at like 15% the day before. We were all just really distracted with the overall figure that it come as a much bigger shock than it should have been.

Looking at the same places now, it's still a toss up. Biden needs to flip two of them.

Yup. The polls were extremely accurate in 2016. This year, it boils down to enough of the electorate flipping over to Biden to flip two states. A high turn out would help him; whereas for Bernie it would be mainly new voters, for Biden it’s a mix of never Trumpers, blacks who didn’t turn out at all in 2016, and disaffected Republicans.

Any movement relying on a youth vote is doomed.
