Trying to bring affordable health care to a country with profit driven healthcare at the expense of its most vulnerable truly is amongst the most elitist of behaviour.

But he didn't, it was health insurance he mandated not health care.

So it turns out the CIA used Netanhyu/Trump funder Sheldon Adelson's security teams to illegally spy on Assange and his legal team. Despite that the corrupt judge overseeing his case is definitely going to send him to die in US Supermax.

Hopefully JA can have his case heard at the ECHR somehow. The complete silence from the media over this is shameful and the public seem indifferent  because of the dehumanising campaign launched against him by liberal journalists.  John McDonnell described it as our Dreyfus affair and it should be the final nail in the coffin of any notions of British decency.

The US gets the President it deserves, from Truman the pig farmer through to Nixon the burglar, Dumb Ford, failed actor Raygun, Clinton liar, Idiot Bush and now Daft Donnie, history is littered with these fools, the saving grace for some of them is that Hollywood lionises and propels them into Celluloid Martyrhood when the outside world knows that a corrupted bunch of fools can buy and blunder their way into the most powerful job in the world.

It's fuckin scary when you give it a thought.

You forgot the peanut farmer. Bush Sr. getting off a bit light there, too, though I can't think of anything particularly unique to insult him with, other than he was apparently also a shagger and Reagan mocked him for being thick. Reagan, of course, was re-elected with a thumping majority despite the entire world being well aware that he had Alzheimer's Disease, a decade before he was publicly diagnosed.

Would've been interesting to see what the response would've been if Clinton had immediately said, "yeah, I fucked her, so what?"

He who claimed he was attacked by a swimming rabbit while out fishing. Bush senior at least knew enough to tell the Israelis to pipe down, and not attempt to run Iraq after kicking their army out of Kuwait.

I forgot about that    There's fucking pictures of it!

I'd also forgotten about Bush Sr throwing up on the Prime Minister of Japan.

With the exception of Donald Trump, all of those presidents had at least one area in which they could legitimately claim political and/or moral success. The only genuine idiot among them is Trump, who is the nadir of what you are talking about.

Nixon opened up China, for example, and began the ending of the Cold War by allowing Eastern Europe to look to Moscow rather than Washington for finance. Ford didn’t do anything worse than Watergate. Reagan was at least domestically popular. Clinton was relatively progressive to the extent that he was allowed to be. W. Looks in retrospect at least semi-competent.

You’ve also got Obama and Carter, the two presidents who probably are politically closest to the UK centre. Obama may have been stunted by Republican halfwits, but he wasn’t anybody’s fool.

Now, the re-election of Nixon, the re-election of W. And the election of Trump absolutely are stains on the decency of the American electorate (and I still have a hard time believing Trump’s victory was on the level), but it’s easy to mock from a distance. We had Thatcher returning landslide wins, for crying out loud.

This is why Trump walks over CNN. Of all the issues to accuse Trump of lying to the American people, they choose this one.

Get down to the text:

Trucker and protester Brian Brase echoed those comments in an interview with CNN before Trump's Friday comments.
"This is not a protest in support of Donald Trump or a rally for Trump. Not that we're against him by any means. Most of these guys here actually probably voted for him, honestly. But we've been let down by the administration, by (Transportation) Secretary Elaine Chao, by the FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration)," he said.

Agree.

He would at least have had the sense to listen to the scientists etc and try to cope with this pandemic the way that any president would, rather than saying the first thing that came into his head.

Operation Warp Speed FFS.

That wouldn't have been a problem as I don't think anything ever came into his head.

The fact is that Trump is the only one among them who has not started or escalated a war, every President since Roosevelt was responsible for wars, even Carter gave 300, 000 USD to the Mujahadeen.

It could be argued that it is preferential to have an idiot in The Whitehouse than one who squanders young men and womens lives in the false belief that is for the free world when in reality it is to be the top dog.

Trump has pulled American forces out of conflict areas.

As long as he thinks he's the worlds big shot business man pulling off daft deals then better that than people dying needlessly.

We all know he's a posturing fool but it's better that than the likes of Nixon ordering the napalm bombing of Women and Kids.

As Churchill said meeting Jaw to Jaw is better than War War, I know which I prefer.

Tony Blair said something similar i believe.

Blair apparently prayed with Bush for guidance on Iraq.

Bush is dumb enough to be a believer. Blair would just have calculated going along with it would lead to the kind of oligarch life he currently enjoys.

Think that was about the only thing Blair was actually sincere about, he joined the Catholic Church soon after leaving office.
