The Official Former President Trump thread

That's incredible. Pleasingly 99.99% of folk dumb enough to take it will probably be his voters.

“Just take it... if you’d like.” It’ll set you back $8000 and possibly kill you, but just take it.

Trump wasn't scheduled to attend the press conference last night but he did because "look at me!"

This was the "highlight"...

Trump continues to push hydroxychloroquine and rebuff criticism of this (presumably an attempt to distract from a lack of ventilators which are meant to be much more effective at combating the breathing difficulties). The President of the AMA has been quoted as saying do not take hydroxychloroquine as it could kill you. But you know, Trump gonna Trump. As long as Fox News pushes this drug he will do likewise.

That right there, in itself, is grounds for his removal from office.  It’s borderline criminally negligent.

Would that be remotely surprising?

Not shares, but Michael Cohen was paid $1m for access to Trump's healthcare policy in 2016 by them - https://lawandcrime.com/covid-19-pandemic/major-producer-of-hydroxychloroquine-once-paid-michael-cohen-hefty-sum-for-access-to-trump/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

IIRC the study that showed that hydroxychloroquine could be beneficial was a small group of patients that only had mild symptoms of COVID-19 and they were very likely to recover. Further studies involving patients that exhibited more severe symptoms of the virus showed that the drug had little to no effect. It's mind boggling he is pushing this so much but given that he gets his intelligence from Fox News and they have been banging on about it I suppose it isn't much of a surprise really.

Fox gets its 'intelligence' (yikes) from the WH; it's just Pravda - Trump will have had the investment and then told them to give the stuff big licks so that he can then parrot it back.

American doctors who have prescribed it say they have no way of telling if patients got better because of the drug or if they would have got better on their own without it, because there have been no blind trials against placebos. And people who really need it for other conditions that it's been proven to help, can't get hold of it because Trump's got FEMA or whoever to buy up all the stock.

And if it does prove to work then how long until he tries to do a Martin Shkreli?
