Are you calling President Trump a white supremacist?

Maduro

He is, publicly and openly, and he has stimulated the fascist tendencies - neo-fascists, neo-Nazis - within the United States, in Europe, in Latin America.

It's an extremist sector that hates the world. They hate us Latin Americans, Central Americans, Mexicans, Venezuelans. They hate us, they belittle us, they hate the entire world, because they only believe in their own interests, and in the interests of the United States. So in this battle that we are leading for Venezuela, I tell you, it's a battle that goes beyond our country, the battle to respond. Look at this: Donald Trump threatened us with a military invasion, just a few days ago. He said he was going to send the United States army into Venezuela.

Why? What is the reason, the pretext, the motive to declare war against Venezuela, which is a peaceful country? I call upon the people of the world, to wake up, open your eyes, to see that it is an aggression against the peaceful country. That Venezuela has problems like many other countries in the world, but only in peace can we solve our problems. And if you really want to help Venezuela, you have to support peace.

Say no to the intervention, tell the United States, hands off Venezuela, and support Venezuela in its own efforts to resolve its own problems through dialogue.

Propaganda 101

The walls of the Caracas headquarters of Guaidó’s centrist party, Voluntad Popular (Popular Will), are decorated with inspirational quotes from pacifists and freedom fighters including Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King Jr and Nelson Mandela.

I'm not sure that MLK and Mandela would be too happy inspiring right wing racists but hey ho

Guaidó, a father-of-one whose calm and eloquent nature remind some of Barack Obama, admitted he was engaged in a high-stakes gamble. “Doing politics in Venezuela is a risk and you can pay with your life,” he said, pointing to more than 400 political prisoners and 1,000 exiles.

One day every country have will multiple Obamas to rule and oppose.

With that, Guaidó strode out of the 17th floor office down a corridor whose walls are inscribed with handwritten tributes to his mentor, Leopoldo López, who was jailed in 2014 for his role in the struggle against Maduro.

One message stood out from the calligraphy: “El futuro nos pertenece” it said. “The future belongs to us.”

This is the end of the article and possibly a sign that even the Guardian security services stooge thinks they are a wee bit fascisty.

Edinburgh Council have promised it if they get to be project managers. They'll ship it out stone by stone, like London Bridge.

If edinburgh council do it, they'll start building it, worry it is costing too much then, as a trade off instead of abandoning it completely, only build it half way along.

It’s a close run contest between Mandela and MLK over who’s had their images more airbrushed.

Trump's been played by the Republican leadership. "Just sign the fucking budget and we'll back you on the National Emergency thing." It hasn't a chance of getting through the courts. He would have been better off nicking the Puerto Rico rebuilding cash as was proposed by his Chief of Staff.

Hey Dickie why don’t you give $100m to help those poor unfortunates, it’s spare change to a rich c**t like you.

This has been the most amateur coup attempt in American history. Only Trump would think "Send in celebrities! That'll sort it!" A few suitcases full of cash and a lush retirement villa in Miami used to be modus operandi for getting Generals to play ball.

They're hilariously trying to use the same tactics they used decades ago to overthrow various Latin American governments, the difference now being that with alternative news sources and social media etc their propaganda is called out and debunked within 5 minutes.

The absolute brass neck to roll out Elliot Abrams as special envoy to Venezuela, who literally stuffed bazookas into pallets of rice sent to Nicaragua, while they preach about the need to send humanitarian aid. It's incredible.
