It's hard to find a US president since Eisenhower that is on the straight and narrow, Nixon was a liar, Ford couldn't chew gum and fart at the same time, both Bushes were warmongers and the son couldn't string two words together, Kennedy fecked anything that walked through the oval office door including MM, Clinton had a blow job in the oval office and he and his missus went about lining their own pockets, Johnstone bombed the shit out of Vietnamese civilians and dear old kind avuncular Ronnie the failed movie actor couldn't stay awake at cabinet meetings. One term Carter seemed decent enough though his brother Billy's drinking and antics fecked him over. Eisenhower btw spent most of his presidency playing Golf. Lincoln surprisingly had as poor ratings as Trump owing to his anti slavery policy and the ensuing civil war. American politics eh? He agreed to talk to the FBI with no lawyer present and two hours later agents turned up. They didn't warn him about the consequences of lying to the FBI. The FBI agents decided beforehand not to prompt if anything he said from memory diverged from their surveillance records. He had previously had lots of informal conversations with FBI agents and thought that this was another one. He's surely not stupid enough to purposefully lie to them when they are verbatim quoting his own words from a phone call when (i) he knows that they can monitor any phone call (ii) the things he said and did weren't illegal anyway so there was no need to lie.
