killiefan27
There's the big man wanting to start an actual state propaganda channel, as opposed to the de facto version that is Fox News. Probably because he realises no-one outside the U.S or, indeed, under the age of 70 takes Fox remotely seriously. Republicans will of course lap this up, despite crying about the miniscule amount of funding which currently goes to PBS and NPR.

Someone should tell him the US already has a de facto global propaganda network, the Broadcasting Board of Governors, recently renamed the Agency for Global Media. They only spend $750 million a year on it so maybe he hasn't noticed.

It clutters up Google News which is annoying. I agree, they should sue CNN for billions of dollars and give it to good honest networks like Fox News.

Zetterlund
I have no idea what Americans from either side of the divide do for decent news coverage. Everything I've seen on my trips over there has been unbearable.

The rumours were that starting a new media channel, outdoing Fox and bring the likes of Infowars into the fold was the plan, until winning the election fucked it all up. Maybe he's planning for post 2020.
JamieThomas
Not sure what difference he thinks it would make, other than diluting Fox News' viewing figures.

Everything I've seen on my trips over there has been unbearable.I watch US news channels with a sort of morbid curiosity. The good news is PBS, NPR and a couple of the newspapers are up to scratch, because the main channels are just awful.
