The Official Former President Trump thread

There's the big man wanting to start an actual state propaganda channel, as opposed to the de facto version that is Fox News.

Probably because he realises no-one outside the U.S or, indeed, under the age of 70 takes Fox remotely seriously.

Republicans will of course lap this up, despite crying about the miniscule amount of funding which currently goes to PBS and NPR.

Someone should tell him the US already has a de facto global propaganda network, the Broadcasting Board of Governors, recently renamed the Agency for Global Media. They only spend $750 million a year on it so maybe he hasn't noticed.

They should be defunded completely, wall-to-wall 'Progressive' propaganda.

They've started a new fact checking site that is solely involved with countering Russian propaganda, but utterly unconvincingly. It clutters up Google News which is annoying. Latest one.

I agree, they should sue CNN for billions of dollars and give it to good honest networks like Fox News.

PBS and NPR should sue CNN and give the money to Fox News?

The rumours were that starting a new media channel, outdoing Fox and bring the likes of Infowars into the fold was the plan, until winning the election fucked it all up. Maybe he's planning for post 2020.

I have no idea what Americans from either side of the divide do for decent news coverage. Everything I've seen on my trips over there has been unbearable.

I watch US news channels with a sort of morbid curiosity. The good news is PBS, NPR and a couple of the newspapers are up to scratch, because the main channels are just awful.

Manafort lied after pleading guilty and the judge will be asked to consider this in his sentencing.

Paulie Walnuts is safer in the slammer than on the streets, it would seem.
