He's constitutionally the chief executive. One of his main jobs listed in the US Constitution is to "take care that the laws be faithfully executed." He controls the Justice Department. 17 minutes ago, Jacksgranda said: He went to a fund raiser where Gerry Adams was guest terrorist speaker, so I doubt he had much bad to say about them either. Hmmm. Looked it up. Appears you're right. Like I said, I don't know much about the role Irish politics play in places like NYC other than that I know it's been a big deal for a long, long time. I remember learning in high school about Irish people from New York attempting various invasions of Canada in the late 1800s. Edit: Actually, now that I think about it I'd wager it had to do with getting in good with Irish union officials. I was going to go big on Melania when it was 1/2 last night but the fraud department at RBS stopped my card. By the time I sorted it out it had gone to 1/4. c***s. Barack Obama looks good at 5/6. Wee tip here that Founding Fathers might be worth a punt at 7/4. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/01/sean-spicer-first-press-conference-233845 Edited January 20, 2017 by welshbairn

Savage Henry
http://thehill.com/policy/finance/314991-trump-team-prepares-dramatic-cuts Trump's not messing about. NPR getting privatised immediately. US public spending is tied to last year's budget. You are talking six months before his people are in place and able to look at introducing these measures. There's next to no chance congress would pass a move to scrap the Endowment for the Arts, even as an add on to other measures. He's gearing up for a fight before he's even entered office. Divisive doesn't even begin to describe Trump.
Granny Danger
I'm assuming none of the millions of folk whose employment is directly or indirectly funded by federal spending is a Trump voter. Therefor there will be no political fallout for him if these swinging cuts go ahead leading to hundreds of thousands of job cuts.
