When is the draw for the semis , what venues might we be looking at for the final of this .

I'm guessing if Dundee united are involved somewhere in Edinburgh.

If they are not involved fir park maybe.

No idea if TNS are in the final

No idea when the draw is but I'm sure there are no neutral venues as the team drawn first play at home.

The draw for the semi finals is tomorrow at 2pm. Semi Finals on February 18th / 19th (which means we are going to have a league game off at Dunfermline to rearrange midweek presumably).

Semi Finalists - Dundee United, St Mirren, Queen of the South & Livingston or TNS. Final will be in Scotland regardless of whether TNS are in it or not.

Biggest potential gate in there is presumably Dundee United v St Mirren. I'd have thought circa 15,000 capacity would be more than enough even for that. Easter Road or Tynecastle most likely (not sure how ongoing building work at Tynecastle would affect a potential March 26th Final). I guess if Dundee United make the final against anyone then Easter Road is a likely venue, or possibly East End Park, Dunfermline?

If United don't make it then I'd have thought a 10,000 capacity would be enough for any other combination with a Livi v Queens final probably not even needing more than 6,000 - 7,000 capacity. I would think they'll want it on grass so ruling out Airdrie, Falkirk and Broadwood. St Mirren v QoS or St Mirren v Livi perhaps Fir Park or Firhill?

QoS v Livingston probably still Firhill unless they are prepared to take plastic and play it at Airdrie, Broadwood or even Hamilton.

We take around 30,000 to finals these days so it will need to be hampden, or if TNS, old trafford would be a decent neutral venue.

Joking aside TNS v Dundee United semi would probably have to be played at somewhere like Shrewsbury or Wrexham as we would take a few done for the novelty value

If he's correct, Wales 8 - 5 Scotland in Club meetings

I would be utterly astonished if that's correct. What's the context?

EDIT: Sorry, is this being calculated by taking goals scored in ties between Welsh & Scottish clubs in the Challenge Cup this season?

I still don't believe it. Broadly speaking Welsh sides are dreadful.

Having checked - if he wasn't talking about Goals For in the Challenge Cup this season he has made that up. Celtic have played Welsh sides 4 times - 4 wins. Aberdeen twice - 1 win 1 draw. Motherwell twice - 1 win 1 loss. That's it in Europe.

There were no meetings in the Texaco/Anglo-Scottish Cup. This season's Challenge Cup provides 1 Scottish win & 2 losses so far.

That's Scotland 7-3 Wales, plus 1 draw.

Must be some sort of record yesterday The Livi v TNS game was broadcast simultaneously in Gaelic (BBC Alba) Welsh and English (S4C) One game in three UK languages! This must be an important competition!! :whistle
