Perth St Johnstone @ Dingwall Ross County

Recommended Posts

The Ross County fairytale continues.

A battle for the ages here: Uncle Roy's Millions taking on Steve Brown's Penny-Pinching; financial dopers up against the case study of "How To Run A Small Football Club 101".

One hopes that McIntyre reverts back to a four-four-fucking-two for this game. Boyce + Curran > most other striking partnerships in world football. I don't expect Burke to be fit so Franks and Gardyne will presumably start out wide. Will Davies be okay to play? After Curran's injury last season County played him the week after and it ended in disaster. Although Davies would be the ideal CB to go up against MacLean. Much to ponder IMO.

If there's any suspicion of concussion for Davies after last week then he shouldn't play.  That'd be a blow, but as replacements go, McEveley is a good player to come in.  I'd expect 442 and also Curran in for McShane.  Sounds like neither Burke or Dow are fit but we might see both on the bench with Franks starting on the right.

Fraser Quinn McEveley VdW

Franks Routis Woods Gardyne

This fixture, and recent news of Cuptie's retirement, throws up memories of December last year.

Flooding all the way up on the journey north, the comedy value of Steven Maclean running through the away stand to use the toilets during the warm up, an entertaining match, a charge the goalkeepers kick jammy back of the leg rebound goal, smoke bomb on the pitch, a 2-0 lead thrown away, then in the last minute step forward the great Dave Mackay...

another win in a long run of them..  our manager mentioned second wasn't beyond us, and we didn't win again for nearly 3 months!

Score draw here with the all new Dingwall catenaccio finally breeched.

Any word on when Dow will be match fit?  He has featured in a couple of the U20's games so should be fit enough to play a part in this one you would think.  The sooner we get him and Burke up to speed the better, Franks just does not cut it for me.

Fosters not making this, neither is Watson, so it'll be Comrie at right back or Gordon in the centre of defence again. Quite like seeing the younger players getting a chance tbh, can only benefit us long term.

Millar will be back fit though, apparently.

Would like Gordon at CB. Thought he was excellent against Aberdeen considering it was a first senior start against a good team in a very important game. Albeit one we lost, but looked more than comfortable.

The bad news is he'll be dropped as soon as one of the usuals is back.

Liked the look of both so far, but it wasn't Gordon's first start, he had a good game at Tynecastle last season
