Couple of clubs have made coaching moves after missing out on on the finals

Collingwood have brought in Craig McRae as head coach replacing the interim Robert Harvey who had been in charge since Nathan Buckley stepped down after round 13. McRae played for the Brisbane Bears/Lions 95-04 & has held various coaching roles with Collingwood, Richmond & Hawthorn since 2007.

Sam Mitchell has replaced Alastair Clarkson at Hawthorn after a change in the clubs succession plan. Mitchell played for Hawthorn 02-16 plus a final season with West Coast. Was at Hawthorn as head of development & penned in to become head coach from 2023 but this was brought forward.

Carlton sacked David Teague & has been replaced by Michael Voss. Voss played for the Brisbane Bears/Lions 92-06 & was last an assistant with the Power for seven seasons. Voss has previous head coach experience with five seasons in charge of the Lions 09-13 making the finals once & picking up a wooden spoon.

I love the constant momentum swings in this sport where each team takes it in turn to look like they'll score from every centre bounce. Halfway through the third term the Dogs looked like they'd pretty much done enough.

Great to see Melbourne end such a long drought, definitely the best team this year. Next season looks pretty wide open at this point.

Game shifted for us when Treloar went into the middle, we were able to get on top at the contest.

When Melbourne threw Jackson into the ruck and Gawn forward, they were able to shift the momentum back into their favour in that burst before the 3rd quarter break.
