If you have players like Halliday and Barton who both have inflated egos of themselves and act like wannabe hard men it was only a matter of time before they fall out when the first sign of pressure arises after a bad defeat. No doubt the Orcs will side with 'Rangers fan' Andy Halliday or brush it off as 'at least they are showing passion, this happens all the time.'

This season Warburton's level of scrutiny so far has been nowhere near as bad as the likes of Tony Mowbray and Paul Le Guen yet he is already lashing out at pretty straightforward questions rather than anything personal. With how fickle the media are it could only get worse now that he isn't being hailed as a genius now he isn't having to deal with teams managed by Jim Duffy or Alex Rae. The same flaws on show against dross are still there and if anything Warburton has only made it worse this season.

7-0 to Barca wasn't pleasant viewing, however the £7m will soften the blow. Never expected anything & defeats to clubs like Maribor, Molde etc felt worse than being just the latest club to be trounced at the hands of Barca.

Poor result at the time but hey, looking at the bigger picture it really counted for nothing.

The bigger bicture...

Yes, the fact that he's been disappointing was surely leading Rangers media types to brand Barton a tarrier or some such anyway.

Now that he's fallen out with the uber Rangers daftie that is Halliday, I'd expect that lots of Rangers fans will not find it tricky to pick sides.

If the stories are true, he called Halliday an orange c**t then smacked him clean in the dish. If that's the case, he might have actually went up in my estimations.

Lost in translation IMHO, you know these foreign players always get misquoted

Shocking display of supporting bigotry if they are keeping Halliday but binning Barton IMO.

Could it not be they just wanted to drop Barton and story concocted to save (his) face? Either way sure Club 1872 will roll out another comedy statement.

"Rangers are making no comment on the matter."

Probably the most surprising thing about the whole affair, tbh.

Aye that would be fun reading if they released a statement stating we have sent home a player for calling another Rangers player an "orange B'stard" and punched home his  thoughts on the matter. :)

Agent Budgie Baws Barton is doing a grand job of tearing down the cloned club from within costing imposters £20K a week for the pleasure. Irony alert.
