cyderspaceman
In the Daily Mail today, an article on the lack of Romanian farm workers drew this comment Quote Major Bumf, Playboy and Jetsetter, United Kingdom, 11 hours ago We survived the Blitze, we can survive Brexit which the EU forced on us. The lying continues. (GOT to be a wind-up, shurely?)

cyderspaceman
The UK government is apparently drawing up plans to slash tariffs on US agricultural imports to advance progress on a trade deal led by Liz Truss, international trade secretary who is overseeing the UK-US negotiations. She has faced opposition from environment secretary George Eustice, who is concerned that cheaper US goods may undercut UK farmers, as is Michael Gove . Ah well, that's the fermers fucked. Fisherfolk next. Edited May 14, 2020 by cyderspaceman

Well she'll need to do something to replace all those new pork markets with China that she spent so much time opening up.

Credit then to Iain McConnell for his excellent article in yesterday's Herald contrasting the confrontational tone of Sir David Frost in the Brexit negotiations with the arse-licking sycophancy in the trade talks with the US, despite the huge market that Europe represents. And an average toddler could rip Liz Truss a new one, she of a permanent 'Patel' smirk. And take a read on the hellish factories of Dakota and elsewhere which process pork in awful conditions if you want a glimpse of the future. Desperate times.

I read a general comment the other day saying COVID-19 is being used as a cover for Brexit related fùck ups and that the problems caused by a hard Brexit will be blamed on the virus.
