It's a brilliant quote and so true today.

Edward Carson  "What a fool I was! I was only a puppet, and so was Ulster, and so was Ireland, in the political game that was to get the Conservative Party into Power".

He did have one hell of a cat, though.

It would be hugely funny if Boris loses by 1 vote to the cry of Theresa May shouting get it roon ye Boris from the back benches. It won't happen of course but it would be an apt staging post in a clusterfuck of political skullduggery in the UK.

What about a dead heat and the speaker casting the deciding vote?

Imagine living in a country where religion is the main determining factor in the political and electoral process.
It’s like something out of the dark ages.

We live in a country where a large proportion of the population’s sole reason to vote against there own independence, is that they have an allegiance to a now liquidated football team.

There’s  no evidence to support this.  The few studies that have taken place show that Sevco supporters are split pretty much the same as other people on the issue of Scottish Independence.

Any Labour MP who votes for this should be fucking ashamed of themselves.

Campbell is a fucking dinosaur - thinks he's protecting Nissan jobs - what a fucking moron.

Yes because now that the notion of a government of national unity is dead on the water, MP should be putting party politics first.

When you have opposition leaders denouncing the deal made within 5 minutes of the announcement then it is quite obvious that they knew f**k all about the actual details then you know that it is opposition for oppositions sake.

Our parliament has been an absolute shambles for three years completely unable to build consensus on the biggest change to the UK for a generation (a proper generation obvs, not an SNP generation!).

Yip.  The profound change in the Conservative Party in that the couple of years has been masked by Brexit’s prominence.

Labour MPs who vote against the whip could be paving the way for a Tory government which will make Thatcher’s look tame.

Attacks on workers’ rights, environmental standards, and protection of institutions like the NHS will all follow.  As is always the case it will be the most vulnerable who will suffer in this race to the bottom.

Surely using the ‘logic’ in your second sentence you should be critical of MPs who would support the deal without knowing the details.

You mentioned a few studies so just post the links to them. Shouldn’t be too difficult (unless they don’t exist).

I’m happy to when @MONKMAN or someone else posts something to back up the assertion that I took issue with.

Just now, The OP said:

You cited unnamed “studies”, the onus to provide a source is on you.

Here is the post I responded to.

Why aren’t you asking monkman to provide evidence to support his statement?  Or maybe you can provide such evidence.
