The revisionism multiplies every day. The biggest act of economic suicide by any country in modern times and it is those who support independence to get away from such self serving isolationists that are considered by some as moon-howlers.

Someone's going to have to own up and admit Brexit was a terrible mistake, and that's not likely to happen anytime soon. Could Labour fight an election on creating better relations with the EU by considering rejoining the Customs Union and single market? Labour would get nowhere, because the electorate will say its all Europe's fault that Brexit is failing. And any way we have our blue passports back " Rule Brittania and God Save The Auld Boot"

And any way we have our blue passports back " Rule Brittania and God Save The Auld Boot" For the moment, Labour cannot suggest that Brexit was a mistake or maybe we should rejoin. There would be accusation about not being democratic or patriotic. They basically have to wait for the UK population to tell them. Yes, there are some who blame the EU for all that is wrong with the world. However there are others who believed that Brexit meant turning our backs on the EU and getting super amazing trade deals with the rest of the world. When after time those trade deals still fail to arrive maybe that is when it will all change.

If they win the election they could quietly start negotiating a better deal, under the banner of making Brexit work, and we could wake up one day with an arrangement more like Switzerland's.

NotThePars
The UK will get f**k all from the EU for numerous reasons and Labour were crushed in 2019 because of the second referendum.
Fullerene
I accept that in 2019 Labour were damaged by demands for a second referendum but that was because they were so ambivalent in the first. "Oh hang on. Never guessed that you might vote Leave. We will have to do it again." Sitting on the fence did all the damage.

I'm not expecting Labour to talk about the EU at all, but if they get into power just agreeing to common standards and acknowledging the European Courts would remove most of the ridiculous red tape being brought in post brexit. A UK government not bound by the ERG and capable of rational discussion would be a welcome relief to the EU.
