Not sure if I trust a trembly kneed acne ridden squaddie to drive a petrol tanker on civilian streets, or an ambulance come to that.

Did they mention what army?
Is it just The Army in England or the British Army in Scotland?

Tube Way, Salvation or Dads ?

It won't be Tubeway.  Sure there is "Cars" but then again "Are Friends Electric?" would suggest they are not interested in petrol or diesel.

You will have to think of a New Model.

In a few short days the (Oct 1st) The CHED common health entry document comes into force as the next stage of Brexit. This is the documents/checks that come into force for transporting food and animals into the eu and vice versa. This isn't a new rule it's been in force on the Eu's borders for years but guess who has to start implementing it? More chaos incoming

The EU have been requiring this since Jan 1st, haven't they?

It's all cool, interest rates will remain at the historically lowest rates they've ever been forever.

I realise you're being facetious but in reality they can't raise them too high because of the fact that too many people have over borrowed egged on by the lowe interest rates, the media constantly plugging the idea of growign rich on the back of ever rising house prices and utterly stupid government policies which were intended to help people into affordable housing but actually just pushed prices up even higher.

They will have to rise if inflation isn't the temporary post covid blip that they hope.

UK interest rate rise in 2022 becoming more likely, says Bank chief | Interest rates | The Guardian

Too many people have bought houses as an investment and not as a home. That should be it's main purpose. Any increase in value should be irrelevant.

Caught a brief snippet on the radio yesterday where a boy was calling for profits on residences to be taxed because in this country you make money by having money rather than though production. Now, that's pretty obvious. He cited an example of people borrowing to buy a home, living in said home for 3 years, adding nothing to it and selling it with a profit of £45k - well in excess of the cost of the borrowing. There must be a discussion to be had on taxing main residence profits (including nailing those who would seek to avoid this by buying the house under third party terms).

Won't the effect be just like LBTT and discourage people from moving, thus gumming up the market and increases prices on the few properties available?
