Just with Foster having meetings with the UVF and UDA this week, I can only imagine them letting her know that if she votes through any deal that would align NI more with the Republic than with the rest of the UK, there will be repercussions.

Reckon this deal will be quite soundly defeated on Saturday, with a few Tories voting it down as well. There will no doubt also be a vote on No Deal which will also be soundly rejected.

Following that VONC in the govt to trigger a GE. Result of the GE a hung parliament. Could still see the Liberals doing some deal to put the Tories into power in another coalition...Could be a 2nd Ref, but wouldn't put it past them to drop even that for ministerial seats.

The DUP will not take any pay off now that the UVF have guns pointed at their heids.

The UVF have no Guns pointed at anyone where as the IRA control their Political Wing and still give orders to. Sinn Fein

As said by the Chief Constable recently the IRA and Sinn Fein are inextricably linked.

Yes they do....

Because of this....

Not to mention the DUP's ties with Ulster Resistance, that has plenty hard evidence.

We all know the historical ties between SF and the IRA, although they are not pressuring SF to do anything on Brexit.

As much as I dislike the LibDems that will simply not happen.

That has more credence than your previous post.

This is the deal that satisfies 'most" of the northern oirlan problems. It really should have been agreed by May when offered back in the day. I reckon it's 50/50 to get through as there are definitely labour mps who have not voted with the Tories on previous deals because of the backstop prepared to this time. Was certainly 1 on newsnight last night.

Add to that there were 19 labour mps that wrote to the eu recently wanting a deal.

At least 19 of the rebels also now happy as all they rebelled against was no deal threat by Boris. They all believe they are the ones that forced him to actually start negotiating. Many seem quite smug.

Terms of numbers It just shows if he had the DUP this would actually be a certainty.

I'm a remainer but a realist and in my line of work could do with the certainty of a deal or the certainty of a referendum on a deal. Hope we have one of those 2 by Monday.

looks like if there is a deal we should have continue to follow all if not most eu rules to the end of 2020 if not more likely 2022 anyway.

Surely this is resolved by overturning the legislation.

If the Tories have the numbers to pass Johnson’s ‘deal’ then they have the numbers to do that.

Wouldn't they have to overturn the legislation first, before the deal could be accepted?   (if it proves to be the case)

If the rule is in place it must be adhered to, I'd have thought.

Terrorist organisations being consulted on the UK's future?

The obvious difference is that SF and the IRA are arguably one and the same thing. That's clearly not the case with the DUP and the UDA (or UVF). It's not safe to assume that Arlene F will follow the advice she received from leading Loyalists any more than she would with advice from business or church leaders.

Sometimes they even get to meet the Queen:
