To save me the bother of searching, could anyone tell me what the court hearing is costing and who exactly is paying for all sides?

Seems a large waste of money when we can have a fairly good guess at the outcome.

The lawyers will be loving it though. Laughing all the way to the bank.

Maybe we could do that with all court cases - just have a fairly good guess at the outcome, Would undoubtedly save a fortune, leave lawyers unemployed and bankrupt numerous legal firms

Sounds good to me. 😀

Do you think there is a hope in hell of the court finding against the government? I don't.

I'm no lawyer, but...

I haven't a clue, will probably be decided on some arcane interpretation of syntax and grammar.

Seems a bit laborious having to guess.  How about a simple algorithm such as Win-Win-Lose .  Then you know in advance - for example, case 123, divisible by 3, Lose.

Make everything simpler.

Religion played a large part in my upbringing in ways that were good and also quite difficult. If you’re introduced to high-octane Christianity young, you naturally reject it and then, cautiously, come back. That was the process I went through, but I don’t begrudge that. Mum and Dad had a phase where they probably wanted us to be missionaries, but when your middle child announces he’s going to be a comedian, you realise the game’s up.

Fannybaws right enough.  I've never liked him. Radio 2 gets switched off after Ken.

Glenanover is a fan......

They will say it's political and nothing to do with the law of the land, IMO.

When Scotland votes for independence, I imagine we will be subjected to a very lengthy debate over the wording, meaning, intent etc etc of the Act of Union. To my very, very limited knowledge, the act does not mention Wales, as Wales was considered part and parcel of the Kingdom of England. So this "equal 4 way partnership"  is a new thing. Does it trump the original act?

Who knows what can of worms will be opened?  I hope it happens soon, I joined the SNP 50 years ago and would like to see a result before I snuff it.

ETA There was another Acts of Union in 1800 so lots of room for manoeuver.
