UsedToGoToCentralPark
Has to be resigning surely? Don’t think even she can have the brass neck to carry on anymore. Resigning after we leave. It's the price to get the ERG onside.
glasgow-sheep
Resigning or calling an election?Neither. It will be a demand that everyone shut up and just vote for her bloody deal. Again. Again.
DeeTillEhDeh
So it's May's deal or No Deal by the looks of it.The irony should not be lost here - go back to Parliament as many times as you want with the same question until it's accepted but God forbid that you ask the electorate the question again.
DeeTillEhDeh
Resigning after we leave. It's the price to get the ERG onside. She's effectively already done that by saying she wasn't going to stand for the next election.

She absolutely does have the brass neck to do it.No Deal or her shit deal makes a Section 30 request almost inevitable IMHO.

She seems to think she's some sort of grand speaker who makes speeches for the ages. In reality she's a dull old c**t who talks like a thick person thinks a grand statesman should when she recites her awful garbage and general bullshit.
Detournement
16 years to day after the invasion of Iraq which he voted for Dominic Grieve stands up in Parliament in near tears and claims he has never been so ashamed as an MP as he is over Brexit. Scum.

kirkyblue2
Statement not confirmed now, maybe she’ll ask for an extension for the 10 o’clock news.

welshbairn
The EU27 perspective. The thread goes into more detail. https://twitter.com/CER_Grant/status/1108429922664697856
Guest Jedi
Have to remind myself what her deal actually is now.....£39 billion payment over several years, a year and a half transition period to thrash out a trade deal, during which EU citizens retain the same rights as now in the UK, with a reciprocal arrangement for UK nationals in Europe, the dreaded backstop of course, UK still subject to ECJ rulings until the end of the transition period, not able to strike trade deals outside the EU for a year and a half.. Still think it will be bombed out next week by around 80 votes....but don't think its her deal or no deal at that stage. Ironically this is where she has wanted everything to go from day 1, to try and force MPs to vote for her deal with no deal as the only alternative. After it is defeated for a third time though the EU will grant an extension of up to two years with the Referendum caveat. Question on the ballot would have to be her deal or Remain. Ref to be held later this year...Remain win, and we all have a Bobby Ewing getting out of the shower moment, and imagine none of this nightmare ever happened. Oh, and her statement tonight will indeed be the usual garbage..now is the time...focused minds, good of the country to accept her deal, delivering the Brexit the people want next week, blah blah.

sparky88
What if the announcement is the promise of an election if labour backs the deal? She is barely in control of her party anyway.
welshbairn
I haven't read the WA of course, but I haven't heard anything much bad about it, other than it means we leave the EU. The backstop is a red herring, and the separate political document is non binding, so any kind of final arrangement can be negotiated after the WA is passed. Labour's main objection is that its May's deal, it's only the political declaration they disagree with. Passing it wouldn't rule out a customs union and a close relationship with the single market, nor even a referendum to get back in. There's a new amendment been tabled by Labour MP's that would give Parliament the right to veto the final arrangements, that apparently the Government might accept. After watching the waffley aimless debate this afternoon, with no route to an alternative offered, I'm beginning to hope her bill gets passed and Europe is left alone to prepare for their incredibly important elections.
