I think Parliament has the ability to stop this; I hope they have the will.

I predict  one of the two major parties splitting.  Either the Tories If May tries to compromise or Labour if Corbyn stands in the way of Parliament exerting it’s authority.

Parliament is in deadlock. May has no room for manoeuvre and any concessions she can get will be minimal and subject to agreement with the EU.

I see Ireland has ruled out bilateral talks with the UK. The EU standing firm and backing Ireland to the hilt.

Backstop a huge huge problem for May. And it can't be resolved.

For me it's all smoke and mirrors now. May is counting down the clock until the very last moment she can present her deal to parliament.

Then it will be my deal or no deal. Basically blackmailing the Commons to vote for her deal or the utter chaos of no deal.

The English don't want a People's vote and don't mind a No deal according to SKY polling last night.

So I'm convinced we'll end up with May's deal or No deal. Nothing will change from now till then.

Our only escape now is  independence.

Good old British democracy eh!

The worst thing about Brexit is that people expected the Tories to negotiate a deal which benefits the working people of the UK. Lolzzz

Neither party will split, it is suicide in a FPTP democracy. The question is which party is most vulnerable to losing votes to a Tommy Robinson fronted UKIP.

Maybe you’re too young to remember the SDP.  I agree about self interested politicians but this might well go beyond that.

I agree politically with Corbyn than I do with his detractors but he is making such a monumental f*ck up of Brexit I can see a reaction from the PLP.

Credit where it is due, in that the Tories STILL manage to hoodwink enough people into thinking they care about them. Fucking staggering.

Sadly many people in the UK who own their own homes and have a few quid in the bank think that their interests are aligned with multi millionaires, tax dodgers and spivs.

Totally delusional.

I may be wildly off beam here but I'm getting more optimistic by the day.  For two and a half years a wholly compliant British media has blown smoke up May and the Tories arses on the subject of Brexit.  The result of that was a 'nanny knows best' attitude from May and a shitload of braying bravado from the likes of Johnson, Gove and Rees-Mogg, totally blinded from reality.

Push is now coming to shove however; Paliament and Bercow are belatedly growing a pair; the b*****d Irish will no longer be lectured to, and to crown it all the Europeans will not do May's bidding.  All of which makes it incredible, to me at least, that she is trying to reheat her deal today.  Wev are now approaching her last stand, and a dawning realisation of that will further increase the shrill headlines and bitter utterances from the likes of Fox.

In short, I think Brexit is about to be royally fucked over - here's hoping.

Sky are now saying that 26% thought that "No Deal Brexit" means staying in the EU.

I'm pretty certain some of those polled would also say they voted leave thinking it meant staying in the EU just without having any of those pesky tourists to deal with.

Tick-tock!

No second vote on Brexit deal likely before February, says No 10

Vote next week will not be ‘meaningful’ as Theresa May continues to find solution

May’s spokesman said the vote due to be held on 29 January was not “a second meaningful vote” and the government’s motion would not spell out in detail the next stage of the prime minister’s plan to get a Brexit deal through parliament.

She'll hit the button when she's confident that enough heads are gone to ensure that people actually turn up on the day and vote YES. This will only happen when reality really hits home for people who are too disengaged to figure out just how badly its going to impact them.

Just a "pretend one" then ??

Has anyone bothered asking her what the point of it actually is ? (apart from this procedural nonsense to allow amendments which don't actually change anything).
