How many teams from the SPFL if any are in the round 2 draw HJ ?

The 1st round is always pathetic profile wise :(

Been like that for years unfortunately NB, although yesterday was better than the coverage of the preliminary ties which you'd barely know happened.

SFA only really begin to take an interest when SPFL clubs join. Same goes for the media, mostly.

As pointed out SPFL2 clubs join in R2; SPFL1 and bottom 6 in Championship in R3; and finally top 4 in Championship and Premiership in R4.

Whoever it was from Gretna hoping to draw QotS is going to have to get through at least another round, then, but Annan do enter here.

Normally replays are the following Saturday, but they can be the midweeks either side if both clubs agree and I did see something saying it was Wednesday 5th October which would cancel your visit the preceding night. I'll see if I can find it again. Cumbernauld have numerous twitters.

SFA website results article from last night confirms HRA v CSS is next Saturday - but they may not bother with one for a single game today.

Twelve out of sixteen LL clubs in R2 draw is pretty good going. Of the eliminated four - two of them got put out by fellow LL clubs; one by a strong Junior team; and the other by Wick.

Annan Athletic v East Stirlingshire
Banks O'Dee v Formartine Utd
Brora Rangers v Clyde
BSC Glasgow v Beith
Turriff Utd / Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic v Cove Rangers
Berwick Rangers v Civil Service Strollers / Hawick Royal Albert
Linlithgow Rose v Stirling Albion
Wick Academy v Whitehill Welfare
Preston Athletic v Montrose
Huntly v Spartans
Edinburgh City v Forfar Athletic
Cowdenbeath v East Kilbride
Leith Athletic / Cumbernauld Colts v Forres Mechanics / Lossiemouth
Arbroath v University of Stirling
Gala Fairydean Rovers v Elgin City
Buckie Thistle v Gretna 2008

Mixed bag of draws for LL teams.

Good draws: Spartans travel to a Huntly side which is but a shadow of its former accomplishments. East Kilbride may fancy their chances against struggling Cowdenbeath. Eminently winnable tie for Cumbernauld if they progress.

Middling draws: Preston would be considered second favourites to almost anyone here but Montrose at home could have been worse. Having held Auchinleck last year, BSCG might look to go one better against Beith although they'll be a stern test. East Stirlingshire should not be overawed by a return to Annan.

Tough draws: Long journey for Whitehill against strong HL outfit, and long-ish for Gretna against runaway HL headers. Stirling Uni travel to strong SPFL2 opponents, and Gala host a capable Elgin team. CSS and HRA will be quaking at the thought of facing the mighty Wee Gers in their own backyard.

Are Stirling Uni any good?

Consistently among the best EOS League/Lowland League teams.

Finished 2nd, 6th, 3rd in LL since established; made a poor start to this season by their standards, currently placed 10th, albeit a couple of wins could take them into top 4 territory.

Qualified for the Scottish Cup of 2012-13 as EOSL champion and lost 1-0 at home to East Junior champs Bonnyrigg... since qualifying as LL runners-up and then obtaining SFA membership lost 4-1 at home to Albion Rovers; beaten Threave 3-1 away and lost 2-0 at home to Queen's Park; beat Clach 2-1 away in R1 this season. Played in the Irn Bru Cup this year and lost 4-0 at home to Rangers 'B'. Among the top university sides in Great Britain - regularly competing for and often winning British Premier North, British Championship Cup and Scottish Shield.

No doubt you'll be favourites but they're no makeweights.

Substantial portion of squad train daily - fit, technically skilled. Media focuses on their female manager.

Woo Huntly, somewhere new for me, where is it btw?

Grimbo

Deepest darkest Aberdeenshire. Halfway between your previous trips to Elgin and Culter.

In Spartans terms that's also well into ineligible player territory... Tread (and form fill) warily...

No disrespect to Tarzan but we are a whole different set-up now, we dot the T's & cross our eyes now.

Probably get your ales from the Cairngorm Brewery Grimbo, the Wildcat is 5.1%  but best get into training on the drams is my advice.

As for Whitehill, what a shite draw.
