Unsure about the actual capacity, but the record attendance was 65,860 in 1950. That makes it the highest Scottish attendance ever outside of Glasgow. It’s also higher than Liverpool or Leeds have ever managed for a home game. To put it into perspective, if it had happened this season, I believe only Man United, Tottenham (at Wembley), Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and Barcelona would have seen a higher crowd in the whole of Europe.
