Few weeks in so time for this again. Still very close over all 3 leagues at this stage, but Edinburgh City yet to register; surprising early pace-setters in HL; and East Stirlingshire still outside top 5 in LL.

Suppose its not too bad for the Shire being out the top 5 at this stage as they are games behind. Still think they will be there or there abouts.

True, they've a game in hand. Winning that would reach 10pts.

EK will be their main rivals I would think given their start. Shire are a bit like us this season with almost a new squad so things take time to gel but I reckon they will be ok.

A lot, and I mean a lot, can change. Last season at this point Forfar were top of League 1 and seemingly cruising, even taking Hearts to extra time in a cup tie. We ended up bottom and relegated with a couple of games to play. It's not how you start it's where you finish. Edinburgh City or Montrose could still be runaway winners of our division and Clyde bottom and gone (imagine that non Clyde fans, try not to laugh!). Personally I don't care who survives as long as it's not the Loons who go down and I'd probably prefer if the other two Angus clubs survived even though the banter would be fun I'd hate to think of losing a potential Angus derby location.

Think us being out of the top 5 is a bit irrelevant at the moment, 1 game in hand, 2 on Dalbeatie and Colts, once those are played I'm sure we'll be top 2/3. Can't really see us keeping up with EK at the moment, but it's a long season, anything can happen.

Depends what you're meaning by 'OK'. That usually means safe from the drop. In the Shire's case I would take 'OK' to mean coming back up?

I tipped them to go up at the start of the campaign and think it will be them or EK.

Not exactly a promising start for City. Hopefully they get some points on the board soon and that helps get the confidence levels up a bit.

They had a relatively strong league cup group and got zero points as a consequence. Maybe not so easy to take in confidence terms as a way to start the season when you have had two straight seasons of dominance at a lower level?
