Two seasons ago, Arbroath were also way out front and looked to have tied up the league by December under Allan Moore. Our wheels fell off disastrously and we eventually managed the playoffs. So can sympathise with Forfar right now. .... in some ways, yours was more tortuous since the challenge went right to the wire... we were overtaken by Albion R with a month to go.

But that grim experience was reversed this season for us..absolution, rectifying a recent wrong. The next season, for every team, always bring a bit of hope of turning things right around

f**k the Forfar

So myself and nofixedability come on to congratulate Arbroath on their championship victory and you reply like that?

There's nothing like being gracious in victory and you're nothing like gracious in victory.

Huge congratulations, Arbroath. You are deservedly champions. Obviously gutted we blew it so spectacularly, but if Forfar weren't to win the league, could not be more delighted that Dick and Ian Campbell have another title and promotion to celebrate.

Well done all Red Lichties, hope we can join you via the play offs.

One lesson from the final round of games - it's extremely dangerous for any team in a tight league to rely on getting a result in the final game of the season, when nerves may be jangling and the opposition may need points themselves. In all the League 2 games, only Annan got the result they needed. Ideally it would be nice, if less suspenseful to have things sorted by then.

And they didn't even need it!

11 points clear......and you fucked it up

Forfar'd it

Not exactly a shock. It started immediately after the win at Gayfield and we were fortunate to even be at the top two games before the end.It felt inevitable to me and even on Sat there was no "we can win it vibe" more just the thought it would be miraculous if we ended up as Champs.Arbroath did well final quarter unlike us and Elgin who went from potential champs to missing playoffs entirely.

Elgin have had an absolute shocker. Has it coincided with Sutherland's injury?

Nothing better than seeing a horrible wee ned greeting [emoji5]

Tbf if you were top of the league for 266 days and didn't win the league you'd be greeting. Just to clarify, Forfar Athletic were top of the league for 8 months and 23 days and will have to settle for getting papped out in the play off semis before we nick their best player. Don't you just love football sometimes?

Certainly didn't help but ive not been arsed to check.Early part of year looked in a position to go for title possibly even more than Arbroath.
