La Liga / Copa Del Rey Ole

Atletico brilliant again last night, beating Valencia 3-0. Probably the best team in la Liga right now and Griezmann the best player in the league, just great to watch.

As I mentioned before, shaping up very well for next season and Simeone looks vindicated in getting rid of Felix on loan.

Watching Barcelona v Real Madrid right now (5 mins in and exciting game)  Signed up to ViaPlay for a month as can't get to Hampden next Saturday as ahem need to prepare for a hospital appointment on Sunday.

The picture is terrible (not quite the right frequency....if thats the terminology)......like a dodgy stream on a laptop......watching on my smart tv so expected better.  Is this to be expected?

Nine minutes in and 0-1 Real....complete fluke

Been really impressed with Via Play here (apart from the occasional buffering on the app). Thought they did well that last Scotland games.

Deserved equaliser for Barcelona after Real's fluke

Watching on LaLigaTV and the guy doing co-comms (think he's Spanish but not caught his name) puts most of the Scottish and English pundits to shame.

Knowledgeable in tactical changes, player movements, etc. Seems to have actually studied both teams in preparation for his job.

Miles ahead of idiots like McFadden and Hartson.

It's Albert Ferrer, Barcelona right back from the 90's. He had a couple of years at Chelsea too, if I remember rightly.

Also felt refreshing to hear someone who called it straight down the middle, whereas many of our pundits always feel as if they have some form of agenda in their punditry (usually some sort of blinkered love-in for the OF).  How many times have our pundits/co-commentators shown complete ignorance of the LOTG, particularly when it comes to handball, offsides and some of their ridiculous shouts about cautions.

Also, a note for our VAR guys, that is what an offside looks like!  Albeit felt the disallowed goal then the injury time winner for Barca wasn't an altogether true reflection of that second period.  Was a cracking contest though and it looks like Barca's title now.

Spot on with this. The lack of knowledge in the pundits here is truly shocking.

The La Liga guys are all superb. There's simply no comparison.

Felt the same about the game but have never liked Real that much, so can live with the result. 😂

I’d like Chapi as a commentator more if he didn’t feel he needed to speak for 90 minutes.

Anyway, interesting line up for Barca tonight with Eric Garcia in holding midfield.  Is that a role he’s played for any other club?

Barca seem to be a bit thread bare with injuries.

Another good win for Atleti over Betis and with Real Sociedad losing, third place starting to look a bit more secure. Should be looking to try and overtake Real for second.

Another clean sheet, fairly dominant and once again Antoine Griezmann superb. The situation at the beginning of the season with him only playing thirty mins a game even crazier looking back on it.

Lovely goal from Angel Correa too - one of my favourite players to watch.

Really hoping to get tickets for my next trip to Betis v Sociedad in 3 weeks time. Checked their website for the Espanyol game to see what was available and it wasn't very much and bloody expensive. 💚🤍💚

Villareal left back, Buena was lamped, in the car park, by Real's Valverde. Seems to stem back to January, when comments were made about Vakverde's unborn son.

https://www.eldesmarque.com/madrid/real-madrid/noticias/266754-el-gesto-de-fede-valverde-que-emociona-mina-bonino-despues-de-haber-llorado-un-mes-entero

Fede Valverde, pimp and coward, " wrote Xisco Nadal, a Villarreal delegate.

All a bit strange.

Quote

The Villarreal CF footballer, Álex Baena, suffered an assault last night while he was going to the team bus after the match played against Real Madrid CF at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

Faced with this situation, the player has decided to file the corresponding complaint against the aggressor before the National Police.

Once again, Villarreal CF shows its rejection of any act of violence and firmly believes in the version of its player, whom it will support throughout this entire process.

Response from Villarreal.
