Charles Stiles
Was at Barca v Villarreal on Sunday. Busquets still has a wand as a foot but Traore is just out of his depth. He seemed to be left unmarked quite a lot and unsurprisingly there was no end product after a bit of bluster. Credit where it's due though, he did lay on a superb pass right across his own goal for Gomez to score Villarreal's second! Thought there might have been more made of it being the last game at the old style Camp Nou but you'd have never known.

Having seen the result I’m not too bothered but it’s a disappointing end to Xavi’s first period in charge. With a few tweaks they can offer a decent challenge to Real next season. Seems legit.
highlandcowden
quite the finish in the segunda today-3 teams vying for 2 automatic promotion places.wth real valladolid winning and almeria and eibar only drawing all were on 81 points with RV champs and almeria 3rd due to head to heads between the teams.eibar conceding and losing in the 91st minute meant that ameria and RV were up with almeria champs, emotional scenes at the end of their game.eibar must be gutted

Raven
Penalty gives Girona the lead just before half time. Scored by Stuani, formerly of Middlesbrough. Carlos Ruiz heads the equaliser just before the hour. What's the goalie.....2-1 Girona. Martinez 3-1. Looks like Girona winning this. Theroadlesstravelled
Marcelo Bielsa has said he would return to Bilboa if Arechabaleta wins the presidential elections. They still only sign Basque players? Sounds like a FM challenge.

Bielsa focusing more on coaching which is certainly his preference, low importance DOE running about the Basque country.

Ron Aldo
Am I alone in hoping Barca fold? No. For a club that's supposedly skint and can't pay wages it baffles me how they can spend the best part of 100 million in less than a week.
Charles Stiles
Barca wouldn't be allowed to fold with a Rangers style con job used to pretend they didn't die.

Wages he deferred to help the club.

senorsoupe
How long before we see the next reports of Barcelona being in a cash crisis? They are spending like they are still as rich as they were 10 years ago

You might be better asking how Man City can spend quarter of a billion on fullbacks when they can't sell out their stadium.
ahemps
Barca have been selling future rights to merchandising and media to bring in funds which is allowing them to afford it although they are going above the wage cap set on them by La Liga so they are struggling to register all there players. Barca have a good crop of youngsters coming through, they should be setting out a 2-3yr plan to get back to the top instead of rearranging the finances that will hinder them in the future. They will still finish top 4 giving them CL football barring a total catastrophe. It seems so short sighted it is astounding.
vikingTON
It's likely to be Laporta's last spell in the presidency so why should he care about the future? That's why it is so short-sighted and why the elected president model in general doesn't work.
