Betis cone back from 2-0 down to lead and move up to 5th in the table.

Elche go 2-0 up against Athletic Club which gets them out the bottom 3 unless Huesca can win against Valencia, and they've just had a goal disallowed, still 0-0 there.

Hopefully that cements Suarez's legacy as an ATG.

His record since moving to Europe has been phenomenal. He's the third man behind the big two over the past decade.

A fantastic player. An utter c**t of a man, but I’d agree that he’s third overall in the past 10-15 years. I’m pretty confident in saying that if he hadn’t signed for Atletico then they wouldn’t have won the league this season.

Delighted for Atletico, or indeed anyone who can get one over Spain’s gruesome twosome.

For completeness sakes the other UCL spots taken by Real, Barca, Sevilla & also Villareal after their Europa win. Europa spots for Real Sociedad & Real Betis. Down the other end it's adiós to plucky wee Eibar, Valladolid & other plucky wee guy Huesca.

Segunda still has a game to go but plenty already decided. Coming up automatically are Espanyol & Mallorca. Playoff spots secured so far by Leganés, Almería & Girona with the last spot going to either Vallecano or Gijón. Confirmed doon are Albacete & Castellón with last two spots a possibility for any of Sabadell, UD Logroñés, Lugo & Alcorcón. Teams will go down to the new 3rd tier 40 team (two regional groups of 20) Primera División RFEF. The Segunda B gets bumped down a tier to tier 4 & will be rebranded as the  Segunda División RFEF.

Because of the new 3rd tier the Segunda B this season  has been a bloodbath with teams at the start having the possibility of landing anywhere from the 2nd tier Segunda to the soon to be 5th tier Tercera División. Making it to the Segunda are Real Sociedad B, Amorebieta, UD Ibiza & Burgos. Below are the the 36 teams who made it to the Primera División RFEF from the Segunda B.

Deportivo de La Coruña save themselves from sliding into the 4th tier for the first time their history but remain in the 3rd tier for another season. Prior to 20-21 the clubs only ever spell in the 3rd tier was a single season in 74-75.

Sell Luis Suarez to free yourselves from giving an ageing striker a massive wage.

12 months later sign Sergio Aguero, committing a massive wage to an ageing, injury prone, striker.

Barcelona in a nutshell.

He's on a small wage with big bonuses, and is a better player than Suarez.
