He played for Clyde tonight as a trialist played better than he did on Saturday

Think he would be a good signing for yous. Would do well when he gets games under his belt. Would take him back to ek in a heartbeat if yous dont fancy him.

He did actually score but sadly the linesman flagged offside, he is good with the ball at his feet and can carry it out from the back which is what we are looking for.

EK twitter says he’s the player with the most LL appearances for them. Anyone know how many?

I would guess around the 150 mark.

Had a nightmare with injuries. If he can stay clear of them he should be decent for you guys.

Probably closer to the 200.

181 to be precise which is a hell of a lot for a 23 year old

Betfred Cup 13/07/19 : East Kilbride 0 - 1 Albion Rovers.

We played Rovers in the same competition in 2017 and from memory were deservedly stuffed 4-1.  I had no complaints that day and told myself that losing like that to a (then) League 1 side was nothing to be embarrassed about.

Yesterday was our first real match of the season and featured 8 new faces amongst the 16 listed as starting or on the bench.

I felt we were slightly the stronger team in the first half and looked the team most likely to score.  The main problem was not being clinical when in good positions and as it turned out a cheap foul allowed Stewart to produce a magical free kick into the top corner giving the visitors the lead.

In the second half our performance notably dipped.  We had some decent moves but the final ball was continually poor and unlike the first half we didn't put Goodfellow under any real pressure.  As the game progressed and we desperately chased an equaliser Rovers looked more and more threatening and only a series of excellent saves from recent acquisition Alan Martin kept the scoreline as it was.  A deserved victory for Albion Rovers on a very nice day for football.

A few of the new players gave promising performances so hopefully we can put up a stout defence of the LL title this coming season.

St Mirren rock up next week and will be a very stern test.

Poor touch. He could have brought that down on his chest. Had all the time in the world.

This was a superb day. The weather was kind, there was little  to choose between the teams. Yes St Mirren had by far the better chances, but Alan Martin had a few excellent saves, best of which was unbelievable double just before half time.

Penalty shoot out was a classic, 5- 5 after 6 kicks each. Alan correctly pointed out to ref that St Mirren next kick had been taken before ref blew whistle, ref wasn't even looking. Guess what, even the crowd knew what was going to happen. The retake was missed and EK scored to get the bonus point.

To  be honest, St Mirren have a lot do do to , but from an EK viewpoint,  very encouraging and last time we played in BetFred we were struggling in all the games. This time we competed against Rovers and secured 2 points against SPFL opposition,  so major progress.

Last word the Buddies fans were top class, probably still a few back at the ranch having a bevvy 😁

Totally agree with EKOK re the Saint's fans, biggest away support I've seen at K Park and they were excellent.
