6th place and 6 points off the pace. 8 points lost already.Only dropped 12 points all last season. Has there been that big a change at K Park  ?

People often find it hard to comprehend but the margins are pretty fine at this level and it only takes a few changes to completely change a team.  Our success over the last few seasons has been built on strong defence.  Craig Howie was an ever present during that period and alongside David Proctor has a tremendous record at Lowland level.

We have resources and will continue to search for players to make the jigsaw better but it's not FM.  You see loads of potential players with, what looks like, great pedigree but for different reasons a lot of them don't work.

The fact that we haven't seen  any single team dominate relentlessly is one of the many great qualities of football at this level.

Bizarre why EK are still bringing players in when season has already started?...is this panic measures already and surely players need time to adapt to new surroundings?...IMO EK making too many changes and how on earth can you expect consistency of performance and into the bargain keep all players motivated!

It certainly sounds good but I have to wonder why a guy playing at that level is prepared to drop down four levels?

He's a kid they signed from Stirling Albion last season! SPFL U20 sides are full of jersey fillers. He may be one. Also the majority of these players filter down anyway. But Accies like to put lads out on loan to the lower leagues including the LL and Juniors. Livingston's entire U20 side is amateur and made up of non-league standard players.

I read that yesterday on a Stenhousemuir thread and was checking social media this morning, searching for confirmation.  I was a big fan of KG and it's a shame it didn't work out for him but if he can recapture the form that led to his move it could be the shot in the arm we need.

I agree. If he comes back as the same player we had before its a great signing.

Season 2019/2020 - Matchday 8:

East Kilbride FC  3 - 2 Berwick Rangers

(Winter 44, Woods46,  Paton 50)

Going a goal down within the first 20 seconds of a match is never a good policy and for the first half Berwick were, in my opinion, the better side.    EK scored on the stroke of half time with our first shot on target (feed Sean Winter and he will score).  Two quickfire goals in the second half gave us a degree of comfort before the visitors scored with an excellent header.

We still haven't reached a high enough level of performance to convince me we can be serious contenders this season.

I liked Healy, he had movement and height and was a stand out for me.  I was a little surprised to see both him and Balde go off together and ultimately I wouldn't have grudged BRFC a draw.

For EK my personal highlight was the performance of George Stanger at right back.  It's a position that we haven't had a regular, consistent player in since, the much maligned, Fabio.  GS showed some qualities at both ends of the pitch.  Paton's work rate is tremendous so I'm glad he got a goal to show for it and you had to admire his backflip celebration.  Also nice to see Kieran Gibbons back at K Park and immediately barking orders at all and sundry.  Craig Malcolm was reduced to the role of spectator today which is a credit to the BR centre halves one of whom is probably the biggest guy I've seen in LL (and he could play a bit).

Pressure on East Kilbride to get a result tomorrow. Get beat, and it could be a long way back even as early at this stage.

I agree. Wont be there today but hopefully we can get the result against the league highflyers. I wouldnt put my mortgage on it though.
