archie guevara
James Kelly MSP has launched a consultation with regard to his proposal to repeal the OBAF Act and this is an opportunity for football fans and others to respond. https://scraptheact.com/ Be warned though, that the accompanying paperwork is pretty lengthy and the consultation questionnaire takes a bit of work to complete. Tulloch Gorum
I think the legislation is flawed, but it was a more serious attempt to tackle sectarianism than anything the football authorities have done. Until they grow a pair and start deducting points/ kicking teams out of cup competitions, there won't be much progress. And since that won't happen, ham-fisted legislation is probably the best we can hope for.
tamba_trio
Yeah, it'd be so easy for the football authorities to sort out the sectarian garbage: kick teams out of cup competitions if you hear their fans singing anything inappropriate, dock points for any league game it occurs in. It'd have died out within a month, albeit the rage that would go along with it would be a sight to see.
Tulloch Gorum
It would be a sight to see. But in a fantasy world where our football authorities (and press) had the baws to be resolute about it, fans would start to self-police.
Hampden Diehard
Anything both Rangers and Celtic fans are against is ok with me.
EdTheDuck
Does hanging sex dolls/effigies and Kill The **** banners count as offensive behaviour? Would these folks be prosecuted or is it just "oohh the banter" Asking for a friend.
