Heard from a boy I coach with from Hawick most players are now more Edinburgh based but time will tell what's happening with decisions the top of the club

Tbf, they'd 1 win/3 defeats against CSS (4th by 7pts) & Tynecastle (5th by 4pts) - and took nothing against Leith & LTHV.

Hawick's players have been mainly Edinburgh-based for a season or two? Same with Peebles and much of the Eyemouth squad, and with Selkirk and Vale.

Some of those clubs even train in Edinburgh all or part of the time. Certainly last season only Gala, Coldstream and Duns (who've folded) were mainly Borderers or Berwickers, IIRC.

Yeh can't argue with the facts there Hibeejibee

I think a lot of people will be surprised this year with Hawick people still have the negative opinion due to there previous few season

i know that they've tried hugely to get local guys involved in the club but the truth is there's not guys good enough, other than the couple of lads at gala who are from Hawick.

They played Civil 3 times over the season and beat them twice IIRC. One of which they were 4-0 up at half time and could've scored 6/7.

Everyone wrote them off past season at EOS and they finished a strong fifth. They've added a few new boys (all Edinburgh based) and I think they'll surprise a few.

Could be wrong but time will tell. They are certainly not in the bottom 3/4 teams in LL.

What's laughable it was only 1st game of the season bud.

Don't get too carried away by yesterday's result.

The LL is a tough league.

I gave 5 teams I thought would be fighting for championship and 4 teams I think will be bottom 4 (not in any order).

Long long way to go.

As I said I hope I'm proved wrong.

Well done yesterday on a big win and Hawick the early leaders :)

This is a very tough league though and at the end of the day it could only be 3 points off a relegation rival.
